E-Class W212 [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W212) Facelift

The W212 and S212 Mercedes-Benz E-Class series is the fourth generation of the E-Class range of executive cars which was produced by Mercedes-Benz between 2009 and 2016 as the successor to the W211 E-Class. The body styles of the range are either four-door sedan/saloon (W212) or a five-door estate/wagon (S212).
they are only in German, and one have to register a lot of information in order to get the brochure. i would prefer one in english/norwegian :)

Did the petrol E200/250 CGI facelift get the M274 engine? How is this engine in regards to timing chain issues etc?
Thinking of buying a 212 next year and not sure if diesel E200/220/250 CDI or 200/250 CGI.
When did they fix the Diesel engine issues with timing chain stretching etc? Already in 2012, or in facelift?

Did the petrol E200/250 CGI facelift get the M274 engine?

Yes, starting around March of 2013. The M274 might be preferable between those two. :)

PS. For the diesel a recall was issued around 2015 replacing an O-ring seal for the chain tensioner or some such.

Here's a page with lots of technical info, but in German. Perhaps google translate could help with some sections so you can read it directly in norwegian? :)

Highly appreciated. Thank you.
Will try to look for a decent petrol facelift S or W212. Diesel is the more popular option in Norway, but if I plan to keep the car for 6-7 years, maybe petrol is the best option.
But I read somewhere that the tensioners etc were fixed from 2012 on the 200/220/250 CDI.. A lot of taxis running around with this engine, so it might be high risk buying a CDI?

Less weight and lots more power make this a German hotrod.

The 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 is on the way later this year with around 600 horsepower, and the German tuners at Posaidon are saying goodbye to the previous version in a spectacular way. The firm's RS850+ pushes the 5.5-liter biturbo V8 to an astounding 1,020 horsepower and 1,033 pound-feet (1,400 Newton-meters) of torque. The company claims that the result of its work is the most powerful street legal Mercedes ever.

Creating this beast requires extensive work to the E-Class. Posaidon's technicians replace all the major engine internals, and they also beef up the gearbox to handle the copious torque. The more robust components can manage the extra power that comes from adding larger turbos to the powerplant. A re-mapped ECU takes further advantage of the changes.

The result of this work is an all-wheel drive sedan that can hit 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in just 2.8 seconds. The company limits the top speed to 218 mph (368 kph) because the tires can't take any more. Don't worry about stopping from such a high velocity because the tuner fits carbon-ceramic 16.5-inch (420-millimeter) brakes with six-piston calipers in front and 14.2-inch (360-mm) four-piston parts at the rear.

Despite still having four doors, the RS850+ is now a two-seater because Posaidon saves weight by stripping out the rear seat and door trim. The company also replaces the front seats with the lightweight units from the C63 AMG Black Series. On the outside, carbon fiber components for the hood, bumper, mirror caps, and rear diffuser take more heft off the scales.

We aren't sure how many people are shopping for a two-seat E-Class, but we applaud Posaidon's work on this project. It's a great way to say goodbye to this model on the eve of the new one's arrival.
