S-Class (W223) Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W223) Facelift 2024

The Mercedes-Benz W223 is the seventh generation of the S‑Class full-size luxury sedan, produced by Mercedes-Benz since 2020. It replaces the W222 S‑Class which had been produced since 2013. Production: 2020- Model years: 2021-
And a new steering wheel with physical buttons.

They should add two options for interior to configure:

1st - Hi-Tech - 3 screens with all digital buttons, alot ambient lights, cameras for video call etc...

2nd - Old-School - More wood, more leather, physical buttons, no glossy plastic and one smaller central screen.

I know it is unreal with Olla on the top, but it would be perfect S class for younger businessman and also for older gentlemen.

It's clear anyone expecting anytjing different to the E class standard screen set up and superscreen set up will be disappointed. This is MBs current Ui architecture and the next evolution will be the all new CLA.

It looks like the S class dash will have some beautiful detailing.

The little control cluster underneath the screen already looks much more svelt and sophisticated than in the E-class. That's more like it.

Now they just need to be clicky buttons rather than capacitive.

Yes beautifully integrated into the trim strip.

They look like physical buttons that work in the same way as the HVAC unit of the W222.

I don't think any company can make interiors so different for the same car.

This above is basically 2 different interiors on the same car never going not happen not Ola or anyone else.

The current Automotive industry it will not make financial sense.

Very very happy to see that volume button on the steering Thank You MB for listening

Now this is how it should be done. The horizontal dash looks so much better.
don't worry, you will see it on the new cla and future Mercedes interiors, really ugly unfortunately as I imagine, they must have more luxury like fine wood, but unfortunately this is the past

When they gonna show the new cla?

Physical buttons on the steering wheel! There will be no room for your knee due to the weird display cut out I guarantee it. This bothers me on the new e class as well

let's say so guys, that the buttons placed under the large screen in the central tunnel are more visible and no longer, let's say so, recessed into the dashboard, also note a more wavy appearance compared to the previous version enclosed in a small rectangle

The S dashboard will most likely accommodate a superscreen like the one optionally available in the E class.

S class looks so much better than these other two horrid looking interiors.
All they need to change for the S class is the driver's dash/screen. I'd more or less keep it as is for the rest.

These spy shots of the new interior look like black plastic galore again, holy moly.

Yeah it's in the past. Since the W222 every MB resembles a whorehouse from the inside, and these days they mix that with faux tech like how a middle class Japanese car company would do. I am thinking something like Honda.

"Put screens everywhere to make it look high tech"

And a new steering wheel with physical buttons.

Its not a new steering wheel, but the same old crappy cheap looking shiny black plastic spoke wheel with buttons instead of capacitive controls.

The main complaint with the steering was the volume button ans the one on the other side for moving left right up down..

The steering in my a 35 is awesome just those two or three real buttons would have been a delight to have on my car..

Me too!!! I was thinking i'm the only one!
On one side the ''skateboard'' armrest in the door panel and on the other side the display cut!
Its a shame, i cant seat normaly in an E-Class and feel like i'm squeezed in an C-Class. Also the knee room in the back of the W214 is a shame. If i think how much more space a W210 had....

But back to the W223 mopf:
1.) I dont see physical buttons on the steering, only one on each side, all other looking the same as now (so cheap black piano plastic)
2.) Its a shame, that they didnt give the gauge cluster a nice integration with flow (like in the EQS), but it will ''stand alone'' like an aftermarket iPad in the W214 with super screen.
3.) Happy for the new bar of buttons, which also looks like aluminium (hope its not plastic again), they should also add some climate buttons back, then it would be so much easy to live with
4.) I'm also interested in the seat adjustment buttons - did they give back separate buttons from aluminium or will there be still ONE button for SEVEN functions, made of cheap black piano plastic?
5.) I'm also interested in the build quality. Will it be better? Will there be less hard plastic? Will there be less cracking and creaking?

As i said, for me the W223 is the worst S-Class ever made (also design-vise) - actually no S-Class before the 223 was bad at all, they were all fantastic (exept for the rust problems at the W220).

they are all horrible for my taste...
It used to be necessary to first draw every button, lever, controller and then produce it.
Of course, that costs money.
So Ola said, no, let's go into a cost-cutting program - and what's the easiest way? Buy an LCD screen from China for 50 EUR and just load programs with drawn buttons on it. But the interior loses its character. Today you have identical screens in the C and S-class. Vehicles that are 100,000 EUR apart in price.

For me, those cockpits are still simply wonderful and well thought out to the last detail.
- W220 the most revolutionary for that time, but it was a bit lame with the materials (if you didn't take the leather exclusive)
- W221 definitely the most high-quality interior with the best materials (right after the W126 and W140)
- W222 for me personally by far the most beautiful cockpit of all time, but unfortunately the materials are already cheaper and worse than the W221 (no more alu seat adjustment buttons, no more leather trim on the lower parts of the door panels and plush in the door drawers)

Just look at these details and shapes. This is today's Bentley level!

and now you get this.... boring design with a bunch of cheap piano black plastic, plastic seat adjustment buttons, even the door handle is plastic with a cheap light feeling, when you pull it
but heey, we got sooo much ambient ligh! Khm.

If you solely look at a car as the sum of its interior quality, 90% of new vehicles will disappoint.

The W223 IMO is the finest S class I have driven. as an overall vehicle, W220, W221 and W222 included. And I am talking about the complete vehicle experience.

I suspect the W223 FL finish will improve incrementally from the current car.

Personally I have not yet sat inside never mind driven a W223, but from what I have read from the guys on this forum and international journalists, the driving experience and refinement levels are even better than the W222. This combined with the drivetrain, economy/emissions and performance improvements would definitely make the W223 the most complete S-class of them all. The exterior styling looks superb, especially from the rear. If they make substantial improvements to the interior, especially the quality of materials then it would be amongst the greats.
