Wow, this concept moves things forward VERY significantly..with crazy tech like the front grill and exterior door displays, level 5 autonomy etc. This should cause quite a stir at IAA..

I think it looks good and maybe it's time Mercedes did something positive and strong with Smart this could be a good opportunity for them...

This is how things are going to go moving forward. Small bubbles that we are not allowed to drive, probably not even own.

Yes, electric robotaxies are the future future of personal (urban) mobility.

And for longer distances turds that will mix the shape of the i5 with a more elevated stance. Kind of like the allroad version of the i5.

But I believe we still have 20-25 years of dignity before car don't matter anymore.

^If EV's take 25 years, it probably will be a failure and replaced by next thing. Technology is not just advancing faster than ever, but the rate of adoption is also accelerating.

The second EQ concept may be shown in Frankfurt. Might be Vision G-Code inspired, but with another, EQ, grille?

An EQ A teaser may arrive soon. The G-Code on the left is just a place holder for designing the IAA display. :)

The EQ hatch back will be a great concept, I really like its interior design with the novel large foldaway screen. Smart concept is the way of the future for city mobility

Interesting.

I wonder how much of this styling are we going to see on the new A Class.

^ Yes, the new A may take quite a few styling cues from this "Mercedes-Benz Concept EQA", I'd guess. :)

It's time They made something like this and stop showing us concepts...Its time Mercedes built a proper EQ cat infact theu should by now have a car and a SUV on road or near production.

I would say BMW is ahead in this segment and Mercedes needs to move it up.

I do like the look of this hatch..and if they made one fully electric I am sure it will have good sales in Europe.

"Rapid charging station returns 62 miles of range in under ten minutes"

That's pretty darn good should you be caught out on low juice. 62 miles is sufficient to take most customers to work, home or to the next charging point.

Electrical circuits across cities will need significant upgrades to handle fast charging. Earlier this year I bought a newly built house with a garage. I plan on installing a charger for electric cars when I go electric in 2019/2020 when they are available in SUV form.

Currently fast charging requires a three-phase electrical supply. My house has two-phase and an upgrade would cost £4-5k in addition to £1k~ for a charger. Hopefully future inverters will enable fast charging using a two-phase supply.

Well there is your new A-Class hatchback. The front overhang will get longer with production, but the rest I like a lot. These new compacts will hopefully get a big interior upgrade.

M

In all the excitement for the project ONE Hypercar, this concept EQA seems to have taken a back seat lol..imo it does look really nice indeed, bar the three door hatch layout, it looks to be a promising proposition..hopefully the next A follows suit.
