Mate, the success or failure of the i3 is not that pertinent to this discussion. What some people are saying is that this is a concept car and so sensibility (which is the domain of production reality) counts for much less. In my opinion what I see here is a boring portrayal of an electrified Mercedes Benz future. A two-box SUV with a lighty-uppy face? C'mon.

Not all concepts are far away from the production model. It doesn't have to be outlandish.

I'm so sick of annual presentations of electric cars that won't be on showroom floors in the near future. Mercedes' might as well have released a stripped electric GLC.

Anybody have more info on the A class with Blu side mirrors? Is this a new electric contender for the Golf size segment ?

I love it. This is sensual purity at the next level. Yes it's not as outlandish as you might expect a concept to be, but it might be far closer to a production reality than we think. The proportions and detailing are gorgeous even if it is fairly conventional as a whole. To me it's the perfect progression of the current design idiom.

Another MB concept with clean side profile with no shoulder line. I think we can expect this new design theme to start arroving to the production cars with the next CLS.

Believe that's from the CAR2GO fleet in Berlin. At one time MB did produce around 500 or so electric A-Classes for testing, and Tesla supplied the drivetrain/batteries, before the electric B-Classes arrived. :)

I watched a few videos of this concept and looking at the live photos..

Love the side profile

Rear is also very nice

Front is good lights could be a bit bigger and I don't know if those blue lights are toomuch but my guess is the production version won't be somuch of blue lighting up front..

The interior is think is superb love it we know it will be toned down but looks stunning and futuristic.

It's a pity we won't see this car for another 2 or 3 years

I hope it's priced decently definitely this type of car will do well in UK and Europe.

Overall I think it's a very good job by MB only issue for me is the delay on getting it on to the roads.

Slashgear investigated the user interface in Paris. Generation EQ detects energy and may take it from the road or even beem it among vehicles, Vera Schmidt revealed in the vid (towards the end). This may be a vision for a future version, though? :)
