Ok, I guess you guys pushed the nod a little further , CLK63 probably wasn't ready for that poll, I'm sure the CLS is so.

Ouch!!!:eusa_doh: Its like the M6 is the mortal enemy... Just for the classiness i would go for CLS63. Though i have no real info on it, dont care which is faster, but i am interested in detail.

This poll was created a little too earily, like the CLK63 vs. M6 poll.
We don`t have enough details about these new models yet. As usuall the BMW fans will vote for the M6 and MB fans will vote for the CLS63.

My vote goes for the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG.

It's looks fantastic, it's got more power and torque than the BMW M6 and being a family man, I can count with the practicality of the 4 doors.

That's certainly true of the way I voted - CLS. No doubt the differences are going to be the typical BMW/MB differences. From the looks point of view I think the M6 from the front is an awesome looking car. The back is not much to my liking and the CLS has it's few negatives as well but overall I would have to say I prefer the CLS.

As far as I can help in terms of the upcoming info of tests from for this 63 , is that the CLS55 is already a very stable , agile and road gripping car with very close performance figures to the M5 atleast in the manual speedshift mode . So lets break it down and conclude : A lighter V8 engine by about 55 lbs correct me if im wrong , a new AMG modified 7Gtronic tranny with speedshift (we all know speedshift already so dont ignore its existance ) , we allready know that the car will get better and stiffer suspension settings (AIRMATIC DC is easy to improve as far as I know ) , and most of all and what I consider the most important is that the engine will be sitting a little further from the front end of the car . It will be interesting to see some performance figures soon though ...:D

both seem great, but i'll take the M6. it'll probably be more exclusive. i've seen quite a few cls55's around here already.

...also, the rims on that cls pic are horrible. they look like they belong on an iroc or something.

At this point in time, the M6. It's a BMW which means it handles lie it's on rails AND it has BMW/Williams F1 V10!?!?!??! A real no brainer right there.. all for less than $100k.

There is something about it that is so stunning. The massive muscles it posses on the sheet metal are just one of the few reasons why I love it. The front looks at you with an angry face that means business. The side profile smooths through its sharp yet soft shizzled body all the way to the back without any effort. The rims, and those brakes! Wow! I just love it

I love the CLS so much that in this poll I have selected. I have not selected it because of the 63 engine, for that is merely a subtle change from 500hp to whatever the 63 would be. Nevertheless, simply because the car is different and stunning to me. Don't get me wrong I love the dynamics of the M6 (6 sereis for that matter) and probably would pick it if I was able to drive both of these (since my true love rebirths itself at the wheel of a BMW everytime I drive one), its just I feel that I have to give credit to a car that MB has truly been astonishing in presenting to the public. No other MB in my opinion comes close as the CLS.

Not only would I take the M6 over the CLS 63 but also the M5 simply because its engineered to the finest pedigree. BMW never, ever skimps on engineering no matter what the car. So much money is used to design and develop these cars that the price tag is almost a bargain considering the companies cost per unit. Which reminds me that the CLS will most likely cost over 100k, which seems like quite a bit considering that the M5's base is at 81k. But the comparison is not with M5, but the M6.

Also, I would buy a high performance coupe for more than just the engine but also for feel. I would have to drive both cars back to back, but I'm pretty certain that the M6 has more communicative steering along with M engineered handling, which means it will probably out corner the CLS.

The CLS 63 is going to be a great car, but theres just no comparison with BMW's finest.

wow im impresses by the CLS63.. the poll is pretty close.. and its against BMW´s finest.. it doesent get any better than this for the moment if your into bmw´s

Again we are passing judgements on a car that hasn`t been released yet.
How do we know the CLS63 will cost $100,000USD did thay announce prices already? How do we know what this cars feel like, the journalists havn`t even gotton their hands on this car yet.

Judgements aside, I wonder which car is safer in an accident. I know BMW doesn`t have the safty record that Mercedes does. Last time I checked the 5er has a 4-star safty rating the E-Class and Audi A6 got 5-stars. I know these cars a coupes that relate to their sedan brothers. As far as safty goes, with the records I rather be in the CLS.

It all depends on what country we live in. In India a CLS500 cost as much as a M5 and in Sweden a CLS55 almost cost as a M6. Prices depend on what country we live in.

I rather be in the car that safest in reallife accidents. What they get in Eurocap dont tell the whole story. Besides 5er was only 2 points from 5 stars. 1er and 3er both have 5 stars but Im certain that 5er is a safer car to crash with since its larger. And crashing in 200km/h then it doenst matter how many stars a car has.

Well Matt and I live in the US so it`s obvious we`re talking the American dollar.

Yes I was talking about real life accidents. The E-Class has scored very well!
If the 5er was two points behind 5 thats bad! Just because the 5er (or any car) is larger doesn`t mean it`s safer. Safty is within the structural integrity of the vehicle.

the 5er is safe just ridiclous the claim the opposite. Cars I buy today I expect them to be safe. I dont go watch Eurocap before I buy car.
Just like Eurocap says a small car with 5 stars doesnt mean its safer than a large car with 4 stars. Besides, 5 stars are disappearing, instead they are gong to use 6 stars.

And I live in Sweden, prices in US isnt my problem.
