F-Type Jaguar's F-Type Coupé - First Drives - EVO, Autocar etc.

The Jaguar F-Type (X152) is a series of two-door, two-seater sports cars manufactured by British car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover under their Jaguar Cars marque from 2013 to 2024. The car's JLR D6a platform is based on a shortened version of the XK's platform. It is the so-called "spiritual successor" to the E-Type.
Ironical coming from you, the same guy who bemoans ineptness of RWD at every given opportunity and then some.

Let me explain my post so you understand it better.

^The perfect street car if not ultimately the perfect track one.

This is a simplified conclusion of what Chris felt about the car.

I could live with that.

Meaning I could live with that outcome.

When you've a sound track like that what else could you need.

This doesn't need explaining as it's simply glorious to listen to.

You mean like this Sunny, posted between just hours? ;)

I stick by the quote you used and if you constantly drove in a wet climate you would understand it, 560hp, a shit load of torque and RWD doesn't make for great progress when its wet, all you end up with is either wheel spin or the power killed by the DSC unlike AWD.

P.S.
I notice you 'dislike' a lot of my posts, should this not be 'disagree'. Just saying.

So...why did you buy the M5..or is that your brother's car, in that case, why did you let your brother buy the M5? In fact why don't you send the M5 down to Australia, we don't have such weather issues.

Not my car but I still enjoy driving it. Why did he buy it, well he didn't buy it he contract hired it and the reason was the deal we got simple at that.

Maybe you should look up the rates down under, you might be surprised as we were and take the plunge.

So, by your logic, he pays a monthly fee for his very possible death sentence on four wheels?

:D ;)

Yeah, sure Bob, what could possible know a guy who lives in a city who has twice as much precipitation as London (just to use an UK's example).

Please don't patronize me and spare yourself your condescending explanations.

PD: I hit the dislike when I think is deserved, as questioning other's members credibility or the moderator's behavior and impartiality.

Oh and BTW I live a lot north of London and here it roughly rains to same amount every month, in other words we don't get that many days a year when it doesn't rain at one point or another.

You clearly need explanations if you can't understand why someone might prefer AWD instead of RWD.

Maybe you need to check just how often you use that button and I'm not the first or last to notice this.

I know you're living in Ireland (perhaps I'm wrong) but I was giving you an example so you can realize you're not the only one getting rain by the bucket.

No, I don't need your explanations, I'm not against any drive configuration, unlike you who are always ready to badmouth RWD cars whenever is possible. I just was highlighting your lack of coherence, in this case, in just a couple of hours.

Maybe you need to check just how often you use that button and I'm not the first or last to notice this.

Maybe you need to chek just how often you write bs that get disliked, like accusing a moderator of biased b/c his opinion doesn't match yours, or your trolling posts.

Last time I checked, when someone considers a RWD vehicle with 560hp a deathtrap, he doesn't ride it, let alone drive it. Then again, if it really was a deathtrap, EU would ban it. Then again, why should RWD be that dangerous when the driver has common sense and he can control the amount of power he wants to be transferred via the rear wheels to the road, given the levels of available grip?

In any case, nothing is dangerous when you know how to handle it. ;)

I think it was Monster who actually suggested that but it's not dangerous just that was cold and damp as it usually is here until late May you can't use much of the M5's performance. But even then you are still making considerable progress down the road.

FWD/RWD/AWD are all dangerous if you drive beyond your ability.

Oh really, so I guess you never said how M5s like to hurl you into oncoming traffic... (completely ignoring the sheer idiocy of driving a car in the wet with electronic aids off and then complaining it is dangerous).

Take the M5 and RS7 as examples of this, yesterday where I live it was soaking and if you'd turned the nannies off on the M5 the slightest flex of the right foot would have placed its tail well into the path of oncoming traffic...

or how RWD cars find your head strangely appetizing?

As a daily driver I prefer a quick confidence inspiring machine than something that wants to bite my head off if I flexes my right foot at the wrong moment, but remember this is my preference of my daily road car and not necessarily something I'd prefer on the track or even as a weekend run-a-round.

And in less than a month of it, this about a 500HP RWD Jag -

Man, you really are one specimen.

So using an example to explain the differences between two drivetrain behaviours is a stupid idea...... Right, OK.

Man, you really are one specimen.

And you are another but we won't go there.

^Seriously, some part of you must realize why you have no credibility around here? But I do admire your sheer tenacity to still stick around, so cheers to that.

Another glowing review for the F-Type Coupe! It's like mini Ferrari F12, but more accessible and it's a fantastic sports car. Although the Cayman and 911 are brilliant, they are perhaps are bit too well groomed and familiar while the F-Type is more of a maverick that will make you feel like you own an exotic. For its price, there is not many cars like it - the closest alternative is the V8 Vantage, but it's now an old car.

Corvette, I think. It sounds just as great, too.
