The good folks over at iFixit have finished mucking about the iPhone 4S's innards and have confirmed the handset's packing 512MB of DDR2 RAM, an updated Qualcomm MDM6610 chip and 16GB of NAND flash memory courtesy of Toshiba. Idle hands'll be happy to know the phone's been awarded a six out of ten repairability rating -- it's not quite amateur territory, but you don't have to be a pro to get your hands dirty.

Whoa, that must be a major update compared to the 3G. Have you tried SIRI? Does it work as flawlessly as they show it to be?

Ordered my iPhone 4s last saturday, unfortunately even ordering it a day late means it comes next week instead of tomorrow.

Yeah it's alright - picks up the Australian accent pretty well. Interestingly enough, it picks up Siri as 'Seery'.

So it really was 512 MB of RAM.

A cheaper alternative for iPhone 4 owners. :D

The size of the RAM was a bit of a surprise because everyone was prediction 1G, to at least match the current standard of dual core smart phones. I suppose ios5 is super efficient with application management?

I'll wait for the Samsung Galaxy S2-LTE HD - seems like a better phone for me...

Wonder when will it be available?? can anyone help me with this??

Bought 10 AAPL at $401 a few days back, and I quadrupled my position at $371. We will see where it goes from there. I do not trade equities usually. but have drank the cool-aid on this iPhone whirlwind, and I expect moves, if only momentary.

Apple shot upward. Shows you how the market overreacts and how it pays to look at the fundamentals.

I have been using ios5 for the past 24 hours on my iPad 2. It feels like a new device. Four and five finger gestures are golden. The home button doesnt even need to be used for anything other than unlocking the device. It is awesome to browse through opened apps using four fingers and close apps with a five finger pinch. I hated mobile safari before and used a third party browse but now safari finally has tabs like a desktop browser.

What's best? Browsing speed. Before my device fast fast but now the page loading is insanely fast. It feels like the device has been supercharged. The difference is that noticeable. Pages load in the background really quickly. Love it!

I've been using it on my iPad 2 too, and while I agree with what you say it's not entirely true. I can't go from app A to app D without going through app B and app C. Or am I missing something? The home button is still needed for that..

Safari improvements are neat, but two finger scroll to go back a page (or up) like on OSX is not present, and I was really hoping for that!
