Re: F01 BMW 7er - Spy Pics -- PART II

F01 will be presented at Paris Autoshow 2008 (2 - 19 October).

First public introduction will be done via press release in the summer time (July - September).

Scott was talking about M3 Cabrio to be presented in Geneva. Read his text again. ;)

No there will be no F01 Concept, but instead BMW are developing:

a) PAS Concept
b) small SAV Concept
c) RR 102EX (baby RR)
b) MINI Crossman Concept (xMan)

IMO PAS Concept may be presented at Geneva 2008. Or later in China.
Since Geneva 2008 will debut MINI cabrio, and Phantom Coupe, IMO 102EX and xMan will be presented either in Paris, or Geneva 2009. As well as X1 concept.

Paris 2008: F01 7er, 3er FL, M3 touring (or later in Japan), new engines: 1er & X5. + existing Concepts (eg. CS, X6 ActiveHybrid etc)

Eni:

I find it really hard to believe BMW will have 3 world premieres at the Paris show. BMW doesn't find the Paris car show that important from what I have seen over the years.

3er FL is hardly a "world premiere". ;) Especially if already in the showrooms at that time. :D

And very possible M3 Touring will debut few days later in Tokyo.

So ... only F01 + new engine variants of an existing models.

:t-cheers:

Re: F01 BMW 7er - Spy Pics -- PART II

So what will we see in Geneva after all? A progressive activity sedan preview? :D

Re: F01 BMW 7er - Spy Pics -- PART II

BTW Welcome to GermanCarForum, the1! :t-cheers:

THX!

If we'll start a countdown... should it be until the Paris launch or the summer (unknown date) press launch? :D

Any news about the F01, EnI, Scott?

Does it mean if premiere is set for October, Paris, we can expect it in dealerships in November, like it was case whit E65 (11/01)?

There's a good symbolism, 7 years later, new 7er ...

l can imagine it on mobile.de in spring 2009, whit deprecation of 45% whit 5.000 km on odo.

November should be it at least according to a chart on the Auto Motor und Sport web site. :usa7uh:

Paris of course! :D

Is it just me, or this Topic is messed up considering number of pages, yesterday, final page was 27, today it's showing me 34, so OK, l tought maybe some 7er enthusiast has found some new FEP photos and there's been a lot of talk, but on my surprice, when l go back on page 33,32 and so on all there is, are old replayes ... So what could it be?

Nope, it's not just you. ;) There were many separate threads about the F01/F02 7er that have now been merged into this thread. :usa7uh:

Thanks bmer.:usa7uh:

So, does anyone know can we expect LWB at the same time as SWB, or is it going to be a 2009 prod. model?

No one knows? :eusa_thin

Sorry for double asking, it's important to me, as l'm currently driving E65 SWB, and l want so bad that extra lenght, it's making the exterior of car so sleek, elegant and powerfull, and if l will have to wait for another year after November 2009, l will be pissed!

I think it'll be roughly around the same time, maybe a month or two later. The E65 was presented as a long and short wheelbase at the same time too, I believe (Frankfurt). But the LWB did release a short while later.

Im not sure though!

I guess F02 LWB will be ready for US market launch - which will occur in early 2009. SWB will be on sale in Europe in late Fall 2008.

But ...

Mind the new F01 SWB will be quite longer than the current E65 SWB! And much of that extra length will come from longer wheelbase.

Is it possible that FEP photos are so effectively hided?
Sometime, l think we are likely to see those photos at the same time as some non-enthusiast 7er listing some magazine ... That's highly annoying.

Today we had our first introductory meeting with the film crew we have hired to discuss our approach taken with the upcoming 7er , As we usually normally stay at the FIZ for these introductory meetings we have now moved over to the WELT. Where we can hold these gatherings and dealer and industry previews in the surrounding wonderful architecture of the BMW Welt. Whilst everyone darts around the floor we are hidden in many secret viewing rooms around the Welt.

As Filming starts in early March the meeting was to discuss my ideas and the concept for the cars marketing with the director and the crew - map out storyboards and show off the location videos (Hong Kong and Dubai feature) featuring the architecture and many city surroundings and ideal driving roads we want the car to be associated with. Both models are there because it will be a double launch so the F01 and F02 debut initially . The Longwheelbase car is ideally finished in Cashmere Silver whereas the F01 is showcased in an exclusive color for the F01 : Imperial Blue and yes the color that featured exclusively on the X6 Concept Car is exclusive to the 7er aswell. Without giving the name away yet it is ......Something..... Granite. Oh yes it is the 750Li model but also the next big engine from BMW a new premium diesel And a new V12 comes in Spring 2009.
Then after the 7er in the summer I get the Z4. And I want that to be the most visual creative concept ever...
