X3/X4 BMW X3 (G01) - Spy Pics & Info

The BMW X3 is an SUV manufactured by BMW since 2003, based on the BMW 3 Series platform. Now in its fourth generation, BMW markets the car as a Sports Activity Vehicle, the company's proprietary descriptor for its X-line luxury vehicles. The BMW X4 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW since 2014. The X4 is widely considered as a "coupé" version of the X3, trading its practicality with a sloping rear roof which offers a sportier styling. BMW has indicated 2025 will be the X4's final model year.
The production starts 8/17 and the sale in fall '17 (USA) and 3/18 in Europe.

The user who posted it seems to be an insider or he has good sources at BMW.

:)
Hmmm....this is prototype of x1 from july 2014, 11 months before official press release, and 15 months before market start:

And I think that X3 G01 is maybe closer to official press, judging by the latest spy pic...

So if start of production is 8/17...when would I be able to put in an order with my local BMW dealer? Perhaps a month or two ahead of that?

That is the planned. So, new X3 G01 should be released in Detroit or Geneva, we won't see before.

scott, no connection front lights - kidney grille any more?

Connect to the grille or become part of the grille?

The new X3 ushers in the new sharper design language for the new X models. So it starts the ball rolling for everything to come. AutoBild are on the fifth render and yet our relationship is still cold after the Quandt's freeze out after the VW Diesel Gate issue that threatened to encase BMW into VAGs deception therefore affecting the stock price.

Similar to an issue flagged last week in regards to BMW's USA sales when said media decided to overlook that BMW like everybody else are seeing less demand for the core models in the portfolio but increases for the X models in the SUV segment which is driving the North American market.

But whilst I am in China as part of the Next 100 Years Tour an event which is not about the past but the future which is a brave thing to do with the Vision 100 Next, its all about going forward.
Since BMW were exonerated from the recent emissions report, I hear from Munich we are seeing extra traffic on the basis that the report has buoyed customers in Germany at least.

That must be the longest answer to a question I've ever seen, and yet you didn't even answer it.

short: the AutoBild render is completely way off

I try do imagine front lights as a part of the grille. I don´t have a BMW concept car with this feature in mind. Is it a feint or a hint?

I thought it did. I mentioned that this was the fifth render and that this information is off due to an issue between the company and the publication. And that when mentioned the X3 ushers in a new design language when clearly the impression shows the current language.

The China factor is important because the X1 Li will be joined by an X3Li and then there is the added fact the X3 will not just be manufactured in Spartanburg. But also Rosslyn in South Africa and China.

So are the lights connected to the grille or no? @SCOTT27

I am 99% sure they will be. Just like pretty much all other new Bimmers except the FWD rebadged Minis.

Connect to the grille or become part of the grille?

How on earth....????
Seriously Scott, it's a fairly straightforward question really. Are the lights like the current X3, X4, X5, X6, 7er, 3er or 4er? Where the actual lights connect to the grille? Or will it be 'old school', like the current F10 5er or new X1?

It seems to me that he meant something like this:

That grill doesn't have alot of chrome around the kidneys and is not 3D effect like other current BMW models. It certainly looks different but reminds me too much of a Lincoln SUV front.
