Concept BMW Vision Future Luxury Concept

Future car concepts, design studies, upcoming tech, and what may come next
There is a world premiere there for M4 body style. Will publish something on it soon since we can't reveal it yet. The question is if the M4 Light Iconic will be there, we heard it might be. And beside that, an M4 but not the GTS.

No M2 for sure, no X7.

So an M4 GC?
EDIT: LOL, Looks like Martin beat my query by a few minutes.

Ghost and Maybach "traditional" ?

Hmm, yes I know that Rolls-Royce talks about tradition a lot but the Ghost really isn't old fashioned.

I think the strength of the revived Rolls-Royce brand is that BMW chose not to be too traditional.

Unlike the somewhat anachronistic pre-BMW cars with their ever-decreasing market, the new models were not designed to appeal to the often antiquated tastes of the Rolls-Royce drivers club who obsess over their Phantom IIIs and Silver Clouds.
Phantom, Ghost, and Wraith are aimed squarely at the world's new super rich ....most of whom have never owned a Rolls-Royce before.

In terms of aesthetics, yes, I consider the Ghost and Maybach as being more traditional. They both have an upright nature about them with design features more befitting of a "traditional" label. Whereas the VFL has a more wedged-shape, lithe body with a driver-centric cabin that nowhere near short-changes the rear occupants. All three have presence, but the Maybach's and Ghost's mass is defined by their vertical height. This design motif was often found in older Rolls-Royces, Bentley, Daimlers, and other chaufferred saloons. In order to define its presence, the VFL has emphasized horizontal width and length compared to the other two. Now, I am not familiar with the actual dimensions, but to my peepers, that's the sense I get. And, yes, some of the features are more advanced tech in the Maybach and Ghost, but that's the way it goes in all cars these days.

I don't you think you ever will. A 9er was never officially on, to be officially canceled. Of course, Scott will start and cancel many cars on the Internet. Just as I date and dump many Victoria secret models on the Internet. It is awesome! :).

True and good point. That said, can you provide me with Candice Swanepoel's phone number, please and thank you?

I said Internet, so no phone, only tweet - https://twitter.com/angelcandice :D

Sunny, welcome to your new bed!

I did not bring it up. It was already out there.

Er......right.

We were discussing the Vision Future Luxury and in a reply about the Geneva Motor Show you brought up the subject of an M Concept that will appear at Geneva.

To "bring something up" means to introduce it to the conversation/debate, or to initiate a discussion with someone.

Whatever you've read in that Car article you brought up in this thread.

M3 Touring is wishful thinking. M4 GC it is. Will look bloody good with flared fenders!

Seeing as we've not seen a single M4 GC mule, and that I also remember reading than an M4 GC has been ruled out, Im not getting too excited about a production version appearing. This could just be a one off to show off a new tech like the M4 light thingy at CES in Vegas.

I don't think BMW could justify an M3 AND an M4 GC and yet have no Touring version.

M4 GC?

Hardly. The only two M models being tested right now are M2 & M4 GTS. And there are 4 M Performance cars on the roads: M340i, X4 M40i, X1 M35i and M750i. No M4 GC anywhere.

Also this, from July 2014:

BMW's M GmbH performance arm sales boss Jörg Bartels confirmed the decision not to build a hot M version of the recently launched 4 Series five-door coupe hatch at this week’s Australian launch of the new M3 and M4 performance models: “That is a negative. It was definitely considered, but there is no plan to build an M4 Gran Coupe.”

“Part of the reason is expected production volume, but also the 4 Series Gran Coupe is built in a different factory to both the 3 Series (sedan) and 4 Series (coupe), so there is a lot of challenges there.”

That whole M4 GTS rubs me the wrong way a bit. The only M4 that I know BMW is testing is the M4 MotoGP Safety Car. I don't think that mule is the M4 GTS.

And you're right, no M4 GC, let's all drop that :)

Bloody shame is all... It's ok to have an M6 GC - so similarly close to the M5, without an M5 Touring - but no M4 GC. Tsk, tsk...

Maybe it will be an M4 pickup similar in concept to the M3 E92 pick up that was shown before by BMW M! ;):ROFLMAO:

I just exited out of "click ignore" for a second.

Yes the article was brought up previously in another thread and it was mentioned again.

"Ignore" clicked again.

So it's no M4 GranCoupe, and it's likely no M4 GTS Concept. I guess that makes it fairly clear that won't be much then.

What is "high-tech new USP" ?

Oh FFS, will you stop it with these non-sequitars!! What do you not understand? YOU brought it up in THIS thread, hence my statement "you brought it up"! What ever has been posted in other threads is irrelevant!!

You're being deliberately obstinate. What an absolute disgrace you are to BMW.

Mods, sorry about this but I'm afraid I DO fall for games being played by other members. That's me.
