On the one hand I feel that if BMW can make a M car out of this X6 SUV thingy then they can make one out of the next 7-Series. Then again if this CS/8-Series comes to production, it would be a far more suitable canidate for M treatment, so I agree with Eni here.

It has probably got more to do with the technical aspects concerning its size, rigidity, etc.

If there is going to be a M7, it will be when BMW offer an all-aluminium bodied platform able to meet the performance demands of a true M car.

MB made a AMG version out of R-class and that cars is a shame to all benzes, butt ugly car
and you think 6er is an ugly car buy hey guess what, BMw built M version of that car.

AMG and M power are fundamentally different. As I said earlier, AMG is not a true race-bred division, it is mostly about the prestige of awesome power.

I won't say that BMW needs a M7 because they don't, but as a car enthusiast I'd love to see it return. I'm not sure if this is the case, but I believe Mercedes is trying to make the public believe there greater then BMW and Audi by offering the S65 AMG. Neither BMW or Audi has a luxury sedan that can compete with that kinda power, so it's pinned against Bentley's Flying Spur. I think if BMW and Audi don't offer a competitive model to combat the S65 AMG the public will start to believe that Mercedes luxury sedans are more special across the whole model range then BMW's 7-Series and Audi's A/S8! It's not good for BMW or Audi when Mercedes is compared to Bentley imho.

audi and BMW can focus on making a S63 competitor to start with
and then make a V12´s that match the Aged 600 V12

65 is out of range

What are you trying to say, BMW isn't capable of creating a engine that can match that of the S65's?

^^Artist, why do you think the S65 is so untouchable? -- did you forget about the Veyron's W16 -- imagine that in an A8

Also, don't forget BMW's V16 it used in the Rolls-Royce 100EX concept (although it probably wouldn't fit in a 7er)

whats the point of a V12 powerd supersedan..when you dont have a competitor for the S63.. heck they dont even have one for the S8..

So imo audis next S8 should have 500+hp and the RS8 should be the S65 beater
when it comes to BMW.. i would just be happy if they made a M7 to go against the S63.. that would be enough.. thats atleast a start

And the V12´s UPDATE please.. the S600 has 517hp and its dead old
the 760 has 445hp while the W12 audi has 450hp...
and keep in mind the S600 was bearly updated for the W221.. it had 500hp in the W220..

okay you guys got it wrong...im sure they can build 1600hp W18s if they want to..
but thats not the point..
one does not make a M5 first and the 520 last.. its the other way around..

I disagree totally Artist! Why would BMW or Audi offer a engine to compete with each of the S-Class engines, isn't there 3 engines with more then 500hp? That's retarded on Mercedes part if you ask me! BMW just needs one chart topping engine for the M7 which is competitive with the S65 AMG, maybe around 575hp. That should be more then enough for BMW's M to take down the S65 imo!

I don't think BMW needs to make a M7. The Alpina B7 fills the need of a "Hot" 7-Series very nicely IMO.

And by the way, I don't think the 7er is the least bit ugly. Actually, It's probably my favourite new-age BMW.

Yeah BMW can't build an M7 and an actross competitor also. It just can't. They should build a smart competitor first in order to stay in business and build an actross rival. No.1 luxury automitve manufacturer and it can't build an M7. Please give me a break !

The 7er is a bland looking car, I knew that it would age terribly. It doesn't have the same charisma as the S-class or A8. BMW didn't properly think it through when they designed it.
