2 Series BMW 2er Gran Coupe Speculation

The BMW 2 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since the year 2014. The 2 Series was created when BMW spun-off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the BMW 1 Series into a separate series.
?? two come? I do not understand

Don’t you love it when Plan comes together...” I pity the fool!”
The imminent launch of the 2er Gran Coupe.

2er Gran Coupe is the first BMW 4dr that has an additional quarter light in its glasshouse. Yes it’s a Sedoupe or Coupoon but it’s a four door with a boot. That ain’t no hatch...Fool!

Hope they don’t mess this car up like the 1 series, at least they’ve got the grill right so far.

With that ugly X6 back and FWD proportions this isn't promising.

It looks better than the photos indicate in the first instance. Wait to see some proper photos very soon.

The spy photos didn't do it justice. Nor the camouflage. But it achieved its purpose of hiding the rather interesting car beneath it.

It looks very well proportioned and decisively better than the 1 Series.

This will keep the RWD?

Nope, it's just a 4 door coupé-fied 1er.

It's been a while there is no more rigid model naming nomenclature at BMW (2er AT/GT, 6er GT...). Though this might seem unsettling at first, to BMW's credit they only have 9 potential model ranges available for their core models (SAV/SAC aside), realistically only 8 (1er to 8er), yet there have been a variety of new models / niche models launched that had to be slotted into this limited amount of model ranges. So today it appears as though BMW's nomenclature doesn't reflect the models' body style (sedan/brake or coupé) nearly as much as it indicates their size, i.e. a given model series number will encompass pretty much everything that's a given size.

The 2er AT/GT and 6er GT really should have been labeled as 1er AT/GT and 5er GT though o_O

So this is a lie??

“BMW bosses suggest that, unlike the new 1 Series, the upcoming 2 Series Gran Coupe will sport a rear-wheel drive platform”

I think they were referring the the upcoming generation of 2 series coupe and not the gran coupe.
