2 Series BMW 2er Gran Coupe Speculation

The BMW 2 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since the year 2014. The 2 Series was created when BMW spun-off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the BMW 1 Series into a separate series.
What I am curious about is the decision to go with a third side window. When if you cast your mind back when they actually said that a third Window in a BMW sedan was not overly a BMW aesthetic. Of course FWD BMWs were not even a twinkle in a BMW engineer or marketeers eye.

4 series GC has a third window.

The 6GC and 8GC dont. As these cars are extremely long, they can add the third window into the rear doors.

4er Gran Coupe is a 5dr with lift back.
6er and THE 8 Gran Coupe are four doors. THE 2 Gran Coupe is a 4dr.
It’s the first BMW 4dr that uses a titbits window.

Aside from the X7, M8 coupe and sometimes the 3er, I can't really say I'm too keen of BMW's latest offerings. They're all plagued with weird design cues in one form or another, this new direction they're headed in sucks.

Mods, can somebody move these to the correct forum?

Kia

But seriously, it's an abomination. How anybody who has more than a passing interest in BMW can be happy that the blue and white roundel is on this car, I do not know. If Toyota or Mazda had launched this car the usual BMW fanboys would be as snooty as f***, mocking the Japanese designers tired design.

It's not a "winner". It's a profit margin on four wheels. It's what happens when you ask a computer to design a car. It's an absolute joke.

Well I'd have it over the 1er hatch any day. But I still wouldn't have it.

Front not so bad. Still too smiley like 1er. But the rear? Not good.

It looks good in some angles and terrible in others. At least it looks a little bit better than the A Class thing.

Can someone do a side by side of the 2?
