M2 BMW M2 [official thread]

The BMW M2 is a high-performance version of the BMW 2 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. As the 2 Series replaced the 1 Series coupé and convertible models, the first-generation M2 was marketed as the most basic M model in the range. Official website: BMW M
Congats on the new car m8. Thinking of something similar myself!

???

You're going to have to explain this one @Matski. Hat, spurs, burger.....Am I missing something? Maybe Big Mac as in McLaren?

Lips are sealed. ;)

I can never keep secrets so I may just come out with it at some point. :D

@Betty Swollocks great news about the car! I've seen a lot of M2 owners upgrading to a Cayman variant...could you be following in these steps?

No. Owned a Boxster S a few years ago which I was very happy with, but I have a "two-seater sports car" with my R8. The Cayman would be too similar.

Popular magazine test rival...

Oh, I get you now!!

A Mustang? I'm saying nothing....

M2 Smashed in Beirut

Yesterday was a stormy day in Lebanon, many people protected their cars from hail that bombarded the city with strong winds.

This unfortunate MG M2 owner has done everything possible to protect his car by using a car cover but unfortunately, a huge construction crane collapsed in the area, smashing his as well as 30 more cars.

2018 BMW M2 Facelift Spotted Almost Uncovered, Looks As Good As Ever

M model, the M2, will receive a facelift for the 2018 model year.

As the blue-and-white roundel has accustomed us, this will be described as an LCI, or Life Cycle Impulse. BMW will change the tail lights and headlamps of the M2, along with other minor modifications.

Our spy photographers spotted an M2 prototype on the road in Germany, and it was almost free of camouflage. The only parts that were covered up were the rear lights, along with the front end of the coupe. The bumper featured multiple plastic overlays that were placed to conceal its true form.

The turn signals that are integrated into the headlamps seem to be modified, and the same can be said for the internal graphics of these units.

The lower part of the hood is also adjusted, and the front grille seems to have been shrunk. In the case of the latter, we notice an influence from the i8, although it might not go into production in the small format you can view in the photo gallery.

The rear diffuser of the M2 also had a few changes, and the trunk lid had a minor layer of camouflage on some of its shapes. BMW could have modified the last two elements, but the differences will be noticeable once the production model is released. Until then, we have a photo gallery of the prototype, which appears to be close to its final version.

Expect improvements to the interior of the M2, along with new colors in the range, more trim options, and an enhanced technological offer. BMW is supposed to launch the M2 facelift before the end of this year, but do not rule out a delay until early 2018.

The F87 M2 Coupe was launched in 2015, and it comes with a 370 HP inline-six cylinder engine. The motor might also get a few tweaks to improve its efficiency and power, but a massive hike is not awaited from this version.

And that's another reason why I decided to get out of my M2 relatively soon. It's only going to hit values of pre-LCI cars.

It looks too camoed for the standard M product facelift.

It is hard to best the current car desing IMO.

Ah the CS.

Any more info?

Decisions, decisions.

LCI M2 or M3/M4 CP LCI. Hmmm. :) Can't decide if I wait for the rumoured M2 CS/Competition but doubt I'd even get an allocation at this stage.

Interesting the now even larger steel brake discs on that M2 CS. They almost look like 400mm diameter! :hungry:

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
