Is there any hint on which platform the supposed new A5 will be? It's almost sure, t...

Quite a while ago, actually, it was apparently envisioned that bonafide A4/A5 successors would indeed be underpinned by an MQBevo "Passat/Arteon" platform. Somewhat later, in view of Audis' proclaimed electric offensive, speculation began to pick up steam indicating that future Audis' from the A4 upwards would be underpinned by the Porsche/Audi co-developed "Platform Premium Electric" (PPE) as of 2022/23. A concept often referred to as the "e6" or "GTS", a 4 door sedoupe with exterior dimensions somewhere between those of the the current A5 Sportback and A6, was shown to a small, selected, closed audience at last autumns Audi Tech Days event. Things have since become quiet and little in the form of news has come to the surface. The COVID-19 crisis and ensuing economic consequences may have turned much upside down in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm. So much will be put into question, I'm afraid.

I've heard rumors that hint at that too. The A5/TT merging.

I hope that isn't the case, proportions would look terrible!

I'm picturing that as the Nuvolari concept...

I found the Nuvolari concept absolutely...SIZZLIN'. Too bad that it (or something very similar to it) never came to fruition. Hopes were high in its' day (2003), when Audi AG and Maserati "got a bit friendly"-Audi being interested in the then-new Quattroportes' RWD transaxle chassis and Maserati looking for economies of scale. That never came to be, of course.

AFAIK, the Audi A5 segment, as the A7 one, will die after the current generation ends its cycle. The e-tron GT and the GTS will succeed them. With the A8 rumored to suffer a similar fate, only the A4 and A6 would remain as "normal" Audi sedans. And that is just now, cause with the current market trend who knows what could happen to those as well.

Regarding the C-Coupe, I will only consider that car to have a proper succesor when the first spy pics appear. With the S-Coupe range axed, I would not put my money on the C-Coupe and E-Coupe not following the same fate.

Do you have any info why he really left ? Did not get along with AVH ?

Sometimes there is simply no good fit. Despite one being talented. Also keep in mind that car companies are different, so not easy to jump from one to another.

We will see a couple of his products and apparently they're nice.

It's the norm these days.
I remember when it was almost not even possible to swap from a simple sales representative function from BMW to MB or vica versa. They didn't want you back anymore if you left for another. 20 years ago. Fact.

THE coupes to have. If the upcoming C/A5 successors remain conservative, they won’t have a...

Audi has gone wild, and conservative is not on their list anymore.
But either way, conservative pretty looks will always find it's buyers.
