I remember reading that the next gen A4/5 would use the MQB platform.
The second generation of the BMW 4 Series consists of the G22 (coupé version), G23 (convertible version), and G26 (5-door liftback version, marketed as the Gran Coupé) compact executive cars. The G22 4 Series was launched in June 2020 for the 2021 model year and succeeds the F32 4 Series. Production: 2020–

I recall that as well, hence rendering the A4/A5 VW Passat/Skoda Superb siblings. However, this info may be obsolete and no longer relevant. As far as I am aware, this A5/A6-ish sized BEV Sportback will be Audis' first offering based on the new PPE platform. It is planned that further Audis' based on this particular matrix will follow (at least one SUV+SAC derivative(s), a large luxury car...).

EVs range is much more dependant on the Cw than that of ICE cars. With an ICE the lower efficiency coefficient (below 40%) is taking the major role in fuel consumption and the other factors are not so influential, while with the EVs (efficiency coef >90), the mass of the car not so important (except when you accelerate), the Cw remains by far the most important.

Yes-I am aware of that. But being the conservative old git that I am, I can have a bit of a difficult time adjusting
.Excuse this not being BMW content, but I can see alot in this particular "pod-like lounge" design that I really like. But moving the A-pillar bases back some...say...80mm-to-100mm would be much cooler yet

It remains questionable as to whether the 2 door M-B C-Class and Audi A5 models will be succeeded at all. It's quite possible that BMW will monopolize this particular segment.

Is there any hint on which platform the supposed new A5 will be? It's almost sure, that the A4 will be on the VAG's MQB, so if the A5 is also based on it, it will be the same car as the Passat CC

I've heard rumors that hint at that too. The A5/TT merging.
I hope that isn't the case, proportions would look terrible!
