I wonder where the 6er GT now finds itself?

^ I hate it when you run out of charge in the middle of the desert, and have to make your skinny missus get out and push.

I wonder where the 6er GT now finds itself?

Verging ever closer to the chopping block I'd imagine. I'm keen to see the 5-er facelift, and how it could be applied to the 6-er.

A low-slung i6 GT 4 door sedoupe is a tempting proposition indeed.

Beautiful photo, thanks, the 6er GT is where it was always, in a higher segment, much more luxurious than this

Having not achieved the expected popularity despite being conceptually a very good idea and a more rounded product than several others in the competition, the evolution I think goes there and I wrote a while ago, more towards what is the A7- E-TRON, maybe in EV format, the tycan would be more of a competitor of an "8 EV".
That if they decide to do it

The problem with the 6er GT is that yes it corrects some of the earlier 5er GT mistakes but also makes new ones too.
I was not keen on the transition from 5er to 6er especially that it is almost exact to the 5er.
Secondly the main creative ideas from the 5er GT have been abandoned. Pointless hatch-trunk aside, but the first class seats have made way for a simple bench.
I don't think GT has a future at least not in this form.

The 6 Series GT has been quietly dropped from the local SA line-up. A pity because it's actually a far more pleasing thing to look at compared to the 5er GT. And also very nice on the inside too, business class rear seats omission notwithstanding.

I'd take an LCI M-Sport 5GT over the new 6GT. The 6GT's biggest problem IMHO, is it's face.... it's just ugly. I disagree it needs to become a 'sedoupe'... it needs to be called a 5GT again, it needs a better lookin' face, and it needs the best spec interior it can get. Alpina styling is the saviour of most current BMW's for me, I'd love to see what Buchloe would do with the 6GT.

It seems difficult to catch the next trend on where the appetite is going on body styles, especially in upper market segments. With MPV's dying out and SUV's supposedly on the brink of a tipping point in customer demand one wonders what is next. Those who've tried (5/6 GT, MB R-Class) have suffered..

SUVs still have a long way to go, it seems to me that they are here to stay,

Adapting exterior design elements seen on Audis' eTron GT helps immensely .
The added dimensionality witnessed on the front wings as well as rear haunches provides a tension that appears missing on the 8er GC. The wheel/arch/flank trialogue is FAR more compelling than on the 8 series cars, especially with regard to the 8er Gran Coupe.

Because the rear part is directly taken from the CS concept. I don't believe than a possible i6 would look so similar to the i4, especially after an electric 5er is announced. It will be a totally different concept IMO.

Once you remove the fugly rims of the concept and change the color to something mlre interesting, this car changes completely. In fact, I prefer how this looks to the new 4er Coupe.

It will compete with the small E-Tron from Audi, the one replacing the current A5 range.

As depicted in the rendering, I personally think that its' visual blows the 8er GC out of the water.

Yep-it will be positioned to clash swords with Audis' upcoming PPE-based, A5/A6-ish-sized Sportback.
