8 Series [Renders] 2020 BMW 8 series

The BMW 8 Series is a range of grand tourer coupes and convertibles produced by BMW. The 8 Series was introduced in 1990 under the E31 model code and was only available as a two-door coupé. The E31 was discontinued in 1999 due to poor sales. The model range was later reintroduced in 2018 with the second generation, G15 8 Series. It launched in coupé (G15), convertible (G14), and four-door Gran Coupé (G16) body styles, as the successor to the F06/F12/F13 6 Series lineup.

Sadly I'll have to skip Cernobbio this year ... :(:(:(

Heading directly to Cannes & Monaco tomorrow. :woot:
Work, more work, even more work ... :inpain:
But it's Cote d'Azur so nothing really to complain about.

I'm hearing BMW Group is doing some serious VIP promotion events @ all three venues ... with at least 2 exclusive previews @ each site. :wideyed: Phantom? 6er GT? X3 M40i? M5? :lurking:

BMW is @ Cannes yes.

After being teased with the Concept CS, the VFL, and the CSL Homage, I can't help be disappointed if these renders point to the production 8er. The proportions are good, but as @klier stated, the details are worrying.

Something similar to this would have been nice, but we all know BMW by now.

Similar design suits the 8 series badge, I think the car should look majestic more than sporty, 4 series with a new Z4 will cover sporty segment, otherwise BMW might not be aiming for a S coupe competitor or aim sky high for a 911 rival :sneaky:

Thank goodness it won't look like this. This ugly whale like thing would have done a big belly flop the min it hit the showroom floor, it's ugly as hell.

Yep, it's not even a real BMW design. It's a modded F01 by Pininfarina.

I love Pininfarina, but it's good times are long over. Everything regarding design from the big brands is done in-house these days.

I really am glad BMW didn't just decide to mirror what Mercedes did with the S-Class coupe.

I'm undecided on the styling though... I'll wait for proper resolution images.
