^ agreed, but of course not for the interior of the E class. The 5er interior is far and away superior. In ergonomics, looks, quality and the whole 9 yards.
What bothers me most about the interior of the E class is the dashboard, and how it is the size of a freaking mountain. Massive. Overkill. Ugly. And I fully understand why BMW changed this after the F10 and F01, with the free standing display of the G11 and G30 not wrapped in a dashboard.

I would prefer it if BMW integrated the display into the dash..
Porsche does a neat job with the new Panny, but still, ease of use and visibility/safety is simply better when the screen is placed higher.
Where Porsche has the screen now in the Panamera is where BMW had it during the E38, E39, E46 days. They are not going back to that. It would be a step backwards in main areas like visibility and safety.
A high screen means your eyes are closer to the road in front of you. BMW pioneered this with the E65 7er and it's common, standard practice on all these cars now.

Rumor has it BMW's gonna integrate the screen in the dash again.
There seems to be a reoccurring opinion from the recent reviews about the interior of the new 5er having better quality interior than the E class.
Where have you read that?
This is the second time you've made such a statement. The first time you read the wording Of that review out of context, so I'm interested to see where you have read it again.
I don't know if you are meaning this as a joke or not. At least it's interesting that the VFL Concept has an integrated screen. But maybe it means nothing.
Btw there are obviously plans for a tablet to go for the driver as a replacement for the recent screen. This was posted at Motor-Talk from a normally well informed member.
The flat screen remains but it will be wider similar to the VFL and i8 Future Interaction and stretch across the dash, but optional technology will incorporate wrap around screens around the driver.
They are working on windscreen projection with touch and gesture at this time.
You must be confusing me with someone rake first time that I've made that statement anyway the video has been posted for you.Where have you read that?
