BMW at the Geneva International Motor Show 2017

By enough to be remembered in a generations time,... or by just enough to be remembered by people ticking an options box next time they order???

I have not driven them but I have seen them. In exclusive Marina Blue along with an M5 in that colour.
Those that have driven them say they take away the complexity (M4 GTS) for the CS to be a more thrilling experience.
The M2 CS they say that it is like a wild animal that is restrained because it is potentially dangerous if unleashed to its full possibilities. The new appearance of the M2 CS is very aggressive.

We have this every year in the "BMW at Geneva" thread. Last year it was "which BMWs are hidden from the public at Geneva?" This year it's "which BMWs aren't within 500 miles of Geneva?"

The M4 CS and M2 CS improve on already great cars. And a new M5 Concept is due.

The i3S which if you know the i3 even before 94h then you know how crazy it's acceleration is.
Wait till you try the i3S.
The revised BMW i8 LCI with minimal changes, the addition of the super gorgeous i8 Roadster and the performance orientated i8S which takes its cue from the much praised Formula E Safety Car.

A new 8er family of Coupe,Cabrio and Gran Coupe. The next generation of BMW X3 is going to be popular especially in markets where the X3 runs close to ubiquitous 3er. Which receives a replacement model to increase its lead in 2018.
The new 5er model on sale for under a month has hot the market running, the new Touring will help this as will the addition of the Li 5er in Shanghai this coming April. BMW still believe in the Diesel engine and especially in its ability to deliver high performance with great efficiency and lower taxes. As well as the M550d the new X3 introduces the M40d which again will be utilised by the 3er upwards.

In regards to electrified vehicles. In the premium segment BMW are the leaders the available models have not just dominated their segment, but also their market. The iPerformance additions are proving popular that in most markets the iPerformance cars are the best selling model of that series. Together with the i3 and i8. BMW are on course to sell 100,000 units of Electrified vehicles. And that includes new models as the 530e and MINI Countryman E. The forthcoming X3 will also offer iPerformance.

New products, something more than the same old stuff? Nothing new there but the 8-Series IMO. Everything else is just warmed over existing products. The rest is just nothing but doubletalk/nonsense. Hot market running? LOL. To try and claim a car is "hot" and its' been on sale less than a month is pure bs. I guess you have include all that extraneous bs/fluff when you really don't have a good answer to the initial question. 8-Series aside that is.

So M4 gets new paint and M2 might get a new bodykit....

I say again, if this is all stuff on an existing options list.. it's a joke. I love BMW, and I'd take an E36 M3 GT2 in Imola Red just for its paint... but that kind of deal doesn't cut it in todays world, BMW M is losing its CLEAR position in the market. I'm begging BMW M to remove the question mark at the end of the question.. who makes the best sports saloon/coupe for homologation to the DTM?, and who makes the best GT car for motorsport purposes... in ANY class.... GT3, GTD, GTE, GTLM, GT300, GT4... because as a motorsports fan.. I cannot claim it to be BMW anymore...

... announce awesome stuff

.. sell awesome stuff

. do awesome stuff

Not that I'm under any obligation to but, in SCOTT's defense "hot" is a typo and meant to read "got". But ja - I see where you're coming from too... BMW hyperbole marketing.

Hmm. Not liking the sound of that.

Hopefully M2 CS will still be suitable as a daily driver and not just a stripped out track weapon.

Out of curiosity, what's Mercedes showing this year at Geneva ?

2017 with the all new BMW X3
Judging by the success of the previous models, we'll surely have a head-turner right there :p
Jokes aside, really looking forward to what they have in store for Frankfurt, especially if they have the M4 CS and the all-new Phantom over there...Fingers crossed

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz:sleep::arghh: Another boring show by BMW at Geneva, what happened with their concept cars? They don't seem to be showing these at motor shows anymore, in my opinion Mercedes is been more adventurous with letting their design teams come out with some great concept cars at all the major motor shows.

I think to be fair, spending last year releasing 4 pure concept vehicles - one for each division, and taking them on a bit of a tour to various countries was relatively adventurous.

That along with that they developed two versions of a Hommage vehicle - basically just as a treat for BMW-fans.

When they do show a concept car, it is some form of SUV or FWD sedan.

.. and all of the above have been shown since BMW showed it's only FWD sedan concept ever. In the last 15 years they've shown... what... four SUV's as concepts? Out of 20+ concepts or show cars? So perhaps it's not as predictable as you're making out.

I should have specify that concept cars with real possibilities to turn into production models.

You made me navigate the forums until reaching the merc section, and look for a geneva thread. Seeing nothing i went as far as typing mercedes geneva in google news to see what you were talking about. Please refrain from doing so next time man.
