F1 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix

it's been confirmed guys...

Glock did receive instructions on the radio to let Hamilton by. Now, the FIA are investigating the situation.

here's how things went :

I have yet to see this posted on any credible F1 or Sport's website so it's probably some Tifosi bullcrap. Furthermore, Glock has publicly denied this, and I doubt he would be stupid enough to deny it if a radio transmission was made since they are all recorded.

Even if that was the case, the only people at fault would be Toyota, not McL, unless somebody can prove that McL actually paid Toyota do that, then there is absolutely no reason to penalise McL.

Once the joy has settled, all that will be on Hamilton's mind is this:

Come on guys let's leave this Glock thing already. Massa had freaking Alonso on his side who gambled like hell and managed to sneak in front of Hamilton helping Massa by giving him a bigger chance of clinching the title.

I guess Hamilton will have to drive the GL for a little longer.......or sign up for the new Gullwing.

We made a deal, three world championships.

The terms of their arrangement seem to have changed, but Lewis Hamilton still expects team boss Ron Dennis to give him a multi-million dollar McLaren supercar one day.

We reported earlier this year that the 23-year-old was promised by Dennis the ultra-rare orange $8 million McLaren LM, housed in the team's Woking factory, if he became the 2008 world champion.

But Hamilton told reporters in Sao Paulo on Monday morning that he will be handed the keys with his third drivers' championship.

"We made a deal, three world championships. I will definitely work as hard as I can to get to number three,"
he said.

Dennis said the LM in question is among the rarest supercars in the world.

He said: "At least I don't have to give it away for a couple of years but it will be a small price to pay for three world championships."

On Sunday, after a nail-biting finish, the failure and heartache were confined to the history books, as Hamilton accomplished what he so nearly achieved on his first attempt. So established is the new world champion, it is difficult to believe that he becomes the sport’s youngest ever title holder, aged just 23, bettering previous record holder Fernando Alonso by just over four months.

Hamilton has just 35 race appearances under his belt, but from that modest tally has gleaned nine wins and 13 poles. To put those figures into context, Alonso had made 69 starts before he clocked up that number of victories, while Raikkonen has scored only three more poles over his eight-year career. Of course Alonso and Raikkonen weren’t gifted with the quickest of cars as their careers began, but even with the might of McLaren behind him, Hamilton’s statistics are peerless.

His 2007 rookie campaign quickly became the stuff of legend. Six pole positions, four wins and 109 points made it the most successful debut season in Formula One history - and severely ruffled the feathers of then team mate Alonso. Ultimately he was just two points shy of winning the title.

Well....actually.......they have forgotten Jacques Villeneuve. Qualified pole in his very 1st GP, 4 wins in his debut season, came 2nd in the championship. Then 7 wins in his 2nd season, and won the world championship.

Well... i dont think they called it the greatest ever rise in formula one. They were merely comparing his entrance to Alonso's and Kimis, current F1 'heavyweights'. Also, im not too sure how close Jacque was to winning the title on his debut (need to check that one) and how old he was at the time he did.
Also monster can you help out with how many points Jacques had in his debut season, as im not too sure of that either.

The amount of points he score in his debut season is not really comparable to now because back in 1996, they are still under the old scoring system, and they only had 16 races. He had 4 wins 3 poles and 11 podiums to a total of 78 points. He was 25 at that time. Damon Hill won that season with 8 wins and 97 points.

Man 3 damn championships for the LM?
i know that one day he will get it..
but aint it easier for him to buy one from his 100Million pound / year.. salary:D

The rest of the team can just leave the sport and create their own series if they feel strongly enough against the FIA.

You make it seem like it is extremely simple, especially in these poor economic times. That is simply not feasible.

So what is the best suggestion or the best way to go from here? If this problem is not fixed then there will be endless speculations and debate about the decisions made by the FIA, and the sport will continue to suffer.

i hope fans around the world will put this Glock issue to rest. Ferrari shot temselves in the foot in Singapore, Monaco, Britain, and in HUngary. they need to buck up and get their act back quickly if they want either drivers to be crowned the 2009 WDC.
