A Sneak Peek At 2023 | F1 TV Tech Talk

China's off the calender isnt it? Fears of COVID quarantines, I'd read.

Funny to re-read all the Max hate here since the dust has settled.

Checo better watch out next season. He's a simple second driver and he will have to act accordingly. Not even the best second driver on the grid BTW.
When you try to f#ck with Max, you get it back.

Or he is OUT and replaced by the Badger.

When will Ferrari ever learn? Yea Ferrari f#cked up many times last year, but it is still a vast improvement over past few years. What they need is steady hands. Firing the team principal every few years is not going to help.

Yes. When you made this post it wasn't official but it was widely expected that China would be cancelled due to the Chinese Government's strict COVID policies. I believe it was due to the quarantine requirements should any member of F1 personnel test positive. It was also suggested that F1 wouldn't replace the Chinese GP with another race, and there would be a four week gap in the calendar.

Yesterday it was officially announced that the Chinese GP has been cancelled.

However, the statement does appear to suggest they may attempt to replace the race with an alternative.

And miss al that $$$?

F1 to do that? Never...

Formula 1 could return to the Algarve as early as 2023

The possibility was advanced by Sporttv.

According to this television channel, negotiations are already underway to bring F1 back to Portimão [the Autodromo hosted a race in 2020], after the Chinese Grand Prix, scheduled for April 14 and 16, was cancelled.
(...)
The final decision on whether Portimão is the destination chosen to replace China should be known during the month of December, as the new calendar has to be approved by the World Council of the International Automobile Federation (FIA).
