The 2004 Daihatsu Cuore. The entry level 980cc version somes with a terrible electric steering, no electric windows, no central locking, no front anti-roll bar and no sense of being inside a car.

Considering I used to drive a Yugo 45 for a short period of time as an undergraduate student, this is -by far- the worst car I've ever driven.

As a matter of fact I do have one right now, and I'll get to keep in until June. Despite the fact that it doesn't belong to me and its costs and fuel (up to a point) are paid, I've only used it once in the last 20 days. It's that terrible!

How bad does a car have to be to be even worse than THE Yugo?

And this is the WURST car ever (sorry, I know, awful joke)

That said, I have no doubt that it is amongst the worst cars to drive as well. Seems like it weighs more than a castle and has absolutely no consideration of aerodynamics whatsoever

And who can forget the awesomeness of the original SsangYong Rodius? For markets that didn't deem it ugly enough they gave it a name to drive the message home - Staviq. WTF is a Staviq?!?

You just won the whole thread my man!! :eusa_clap

How bad does a car have to be to be even worse than THE Yugo?

Because THE Yugo I had was made sometime in the late '80s, it costed as much as a special whiskey to buy and as much as a beer to fuel. I believe I didn't spend any money on maintenance for as long as I had it. I took it to some great roadtrips and I have amazing memories with that car.

I also crossed a river once. It survived. The second time I attempted to cross a river with THE Yugo, it didn't survive.

And then you get to the Cuore, a car made in the 21st century, yet if you take a corner with more than 20km/h the suspension won't fight the car's inertia. It's scary and dangerous. Then, you sit upright, high and uncomfortable, the doors are so flimsy and thin that they could be made of a single newspaper and the ride is terrible. The engine is also noise and quite thirsty for its size.

A 2004 Cuore with a 980cc 3pot engine and 75000km on the clock drinks more fuel than my 1990 Clio with a 1.4l engine and 3850000km on its back.

And then come costs. Spare parts cost an arm and a leg - and I thought OEM parts for the Volvo were expensive. Talk about 450€ for a headlight. It's 380€ from the dealer, or 150€ from the OEM (Valeo) importer for my S60, a car that costed 3 times more to buy.

This car looked ok for 1985 but unfortunately the year was 1995. It drove terribly and was made out of paper mache.
Hyundai called it the S-Coupé - but those in the know knew it as the Poup-Scoupe.

And of course, who could forget the ill-fated, ill-conceived and just plain terminally ill Caparo (pr. Ka-pow-wow) T1. The hype was intense, the heat from the flames - even more so.
A classic example of one of the better British born-in-a-shed failures. It looked good but actually, it was bad.

I was unfortunate enough to drive one of these Honda Insight last year.

I actually wanted to crash this thing into a tree.

Perhaps not as bad as the Insight (though not brilliant either), but my word it's exponentially uglier, one of the worst designs of all time

Worst cars I've driven:

1. PT Cruiser. Whatever you do with that steering wheel... what happens next is never what you'd expect.
Awful car!

2. My mom's ex Rover 75. Had the NA V6 (Peugeot I think) with 150HP and the AT transmission.
The good: it was fully decked, looked good and the interior looked brand new years after we bought the car.
The bad: 11 points for unreliability and extremely bad to drive.

3. 2.7 TDI A5 S-Line FWD.
The good: goes straight and has a nice interior.
The bad: as good a driver's car as a PT Cruiser.

4. 2008 Chevrolet Aveo.
Better than all of the above yet quite reminiscent of the PT cruiser's "driving characteristics".

5. Opel Insignia 1.7 CDTI
A nice car with a HORRIFIC steering.

PS: I did learn how to drive on my grand-grandfathers ZAZ-968А and even though I was about 7yo. I still remember it doing just fine without being maintained for years. Always starting on first try. Hauling 8-10 one on top of another kids all while its floor had a huge crack right in front of the driver's seat and every time you hit a pothole while raining dirty water will literally wash your face. Given I was little and drove the car mostly off the roads I had no idea what makes a good or a bad car... yet I would still consider it better than all of the above.

Toyota Corolla. IMHO much worse to drive than either the much-maligned PT Cruiser or the Rover 75, as bad as they are. Honorary mention goes to anything bearing the name 'Vectra'.

I think it is not a "bad" car you see, just boring and ugly....it's reliable, well-built and not awfully expensive . all things considered , I reckon it would fare better than many of the cars on this thread...Surely better than the Cadillac Cimarron, for example ;)

Yeah, I know it's reliable. I'd still choose a life with a PT Cruiser than ever drive one of those again.

This model exactly was not very reliable. It had some major issue with the engine and more specifically with the piston bolts, causing "totalschade" of the engine

The Vector M12...Even worse than the God-awful Vector W8

it still holds the record for a street legal car on TGTT with a time of 1:10,6

Not many cars got "actively" involved in bringing the demise of a car manufacturer...This one did...Lest we forget, the almighty Pontiac Aztek
