No, BMW finds it more important to have a good working, fast, easy to use interface for iDrive.

Happens from time to time.. i like to adjust the incline for the back..

Ofcourse its not really an everyday thing, but the MB conrols are way simpler than BMW or anyone else. thats a FACT..

Other than that, you can find them ugly or whatever, lord knows i find nearly everything about a BMW displeasing to the eye.. its no issue..haha
 
What's even more interesting is the fact that MB for the first time in 20 years has something remotely technical, and the MB boys suddenly think it's the best in the world.

News flash: the E is brand new. You want us to compare it to old competition and then say how advanced it is?
The brand new 7er gets compared with the W213. That says all. In my book, the 7er is E-Klasse competition and no S-Klasse competition. The S is 1 or 2 classes above it.

Ile try to bait you with this : How come BMWs with their carbon cores, are more or less as light/heavy as the competition, and sometimes heavier? I mean there has been alot of talk of this amazing carbon core tech, didn't result in much did it?

There was some debate about W213 not losing enough weight. According to the latest issue of Auto Motor und Sport, this isn't a problem at all, because the current 5 was allready heavier than the W212. To be on par with W213 in the weight department, the new 5er must loose considerable more weight.

I can't be bothered with untrue statements. There might be a small difference (think 20 kg) in favor of the W212 on some models, and even then it's only because the W212 lacks basic tech. Hahahaha

E350 BlueTec (w212) - 1845kg
E350d (w213) - 1800kg (with :poop:50L fuel tank)
BMW 530d - 1785kg

E220 (w213) - 1680kg (with 50L fuel tank)
BMW 520d - 1705kg
 
^ Spec grav of fuel is 0.737

20L which is the diff between the 50l tank and the 70l tank results in:
14.74kg round it up to 15kg.

THIS IS WHAT PEOPLE ARE CRYING ABOUT 15 GOD DAMN KILOGRAMS.

more or less a couple of bags of groceries..haha

like i said some W212s were lighter than the F10, some W213s are ligher or heavier.

In the end i care very little about weight of big ass luxury cars, but since the bMW fans are so hyped about it, its nice to shed some light on the minimal differences.

Some of you are out here acting like BMW is the Pagani of the premium car segment..haha

What am I reading? You sure you are Swedish and not from some parallel universe where things can be bend and twisted when suited?
 
^nope both are more or less as heavy.. and the F whatever the F they call it new 5er.will be +/- 50-100 kg vs the W213.

Just like the new 7er is barely lighter than the W222. its those 50-100kgs..
No one cares about your carbon core..haha

To put it into perspective, as much as you care about Safety tech, about 100% less than that is how much i care about the weight of 7er/S or E/5er.
