W212 vs F10 Sales

So, I make assumptions, companies bake the numbers ... and you ... what? Have the magic numbers? As said: you can believe anything you want ... but reality is there.

That said ... 5er outselling E-class does not mean E is a worse car ... In many markets it outsells the 5er ... What "killed" the E sales was the MB's years long fiasco with dealership network in China. And that's the main reason E is lagging behind 5er in sales.

And with such handicap MB experienced, it is hard to compare the sales fairly. But ... the numbers are there: F10 outsold the W212. Nothing can't change that fact.

3 facts for you.
1. You are making assumptions ( calculated and thought through sure but assumptions)
2. The comapanys both of them bake togehter numbers for a range of vehicles.
3. Me? i have nothing, i made the thread so someone can post numbers.

And so far we have no clear numbers on what we deem is fair, sedan and wagon vs sedan and wagon.

So we wait.

Do i belive thanks to your breakdown of the numbers and explenations of the dealer network in china that the F10 outsould the W212..most certainly. and thank you much for that information.

I'm upset because we presented you the best figurse possible ... the ones that are available. The only ones. There are no others. No more specific sales figure breakdown is available. And it will never be. Still ... F10 / F11 another whole year to complete before its life cycle ends.

What's the point of making such thread at this moment? I can't see a good one.

So, the only thing we can do is to present you with the only available (official) figures ... and make predictions & assumptions based on previous trends. And that has been done - yet that did not satisfied you.

It's a stupid thread ... that's why I'm upset. It's at least one year too early to open such thread. And even then the same kind of figures will be available (total Class / Series sales figures only, without detailed breakdown). Meh! The whole thing is pointless ...

Yep you are mad cause i didn't take your word for gospel.. i understand.

I think that its ok to make such a thread cause the W212 is done and out of production any moment now ( if not already).
And the new 5er is here in september i think?

also how do you know that they will not present a press release breaking down the numbers?

I so t fully agree with the argument that the e class is catching flack on this forum but I do agree with doubting the numbers. Until we have the exact numbers for e class sedan and wagon and 5 series we xnnot come to a conclusion. Are the CLS, Cabrio and Coupe numbers available somewhere so we can subtract them from the total class sales?
