The BMW M5 - here tested in near-600bhp ‘30 Jahre’ guise - is the default benchmark performance saloon. Can the Lexus GS F and its atmospheric, 471bhp V8 compete?

Chris Harris Drives: Lexus GS F vs BMW M5

I'd have the M5 hands down , but I do believe you'd enjoy driving the GSF more of the time with its useable power. It's an experience you can't get anymore with its linear power delivery due it's N\A engine and great sounding exhaust note and I think it looks good in blue with the yellow calipers.

Surprising result for this comparison but then the benefits of a NA power plant start to show as the power delivery is more linear from low down instead of just having a massive push when the rev counter hits 2000 rpm and on snowy conditions this kind of power delivery will result in smoother control of throttle to avoid out of the blue lairy oversteer

Yes, NA experience with it's linear power delivery is more enjoyable but GS-F is not the kind of NA to enjoy driving it. The real NA experience is S85 V10 in E60 M5 not the confusing GS-F!
