TV Top Gear: Chris Harris Reportedly Joins

This looks really good, better than GT, but... I have to say the last episode of the Grand Tour was a really good, big laugh. And that's all I expect from the old trio. :D

I suggest they partner up with a streaming service in order to have weekly new episodes on-demand for those outside the UK. One thing I really like about the GT is it's convenience on Prime.

My days of going to Final Gear and all those other related sites from back in the day are over.

I second that, I've cut the cord on cable TV for the last year+ and haven't looked back.

I really hope that the upcoming season of TG is good because the The Grand Tour was terrible. I need to see a good motoring program once again.

Trump puts 40% export tax on American Presenters....

Not really...

But it just occurred to me I haven't watch any Top Gear or Grand Tour in a long time.

Oh shiiit. The last season of Top Gear was barely okay. I found 2nd season of Grand Tour to be better for comparison. Now I wonder who the new host will be...

I love CH but I think LeBlanc was the best of the three. Hes been improving and was good to watch in the last season.
You notice CH is reading a script, hes not natural(I prefer him on Youtube). LeBlanc is an actor after all, easier for him to follow a script.

I see that there are dedicated followers recommending our favourite youtubers such as Schmee for presenter.
Hopefully Mr LeBlanc will continue his "Episodes" comedy series which type casts him in his well known role but with a funny twist.

Welcome to your new Top Gear presenters!

Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome your new Top Gear hosts: Paddy McGuinness and Freddie Flintoff!

Following Matt LeBlanc’s announcement that he will leave TG after the next series, we’re proud to announce that comedian and entertainment host McGuinness, along with former Ashes-winning England cricketer Flintoff, will join Chris Harris for Series 27 of Top Gear TV.

Rory Reid will step down from the main presenting line-up, but will remain part of the Top Gear family, along with Sabine Schmitz. He’ll continue to be the face of TG’s companion show Extra Gear, and will form the heart of a larger digital presence for the show.

“Getting the Top Gear gig is a real honour,” McGuiness said. “To be hosting a show I’ve watched and loved from being a small boy is beyond exciting. Top Gear fans worldwide are a passionate bunch and I consider myself one of them.

“Now let’s start up this Great British machine and see what it can do,” he added.

Flintoff said: “It’s not often you have the chance to do both of your dream jobs, but I’m now lucky enough to say I will have. I’ve always been passionate about cars and I’m so excited to be joining the Top Gear team.”

Chris Harris added: “I think you can tell just how much fun we’re going to have making Top Gear with Paddy and Freddie. They’re both brilliant, natural entertainers – and their mischief mixed with the most exciting cars on the planet is sure to take the show to the next level.

“My dream job just got even better.”

Series 26 of Top Gear TV – Matt LeBlanc’s last as lead host – will debut in early 2019 on BBC Two, followed by Paddy, Freddie and Chris’s all-new Series 27 later in the year.

This show has become so irrelevant now compared to where this show was 10 years ago.

RE: The Grand Tour- even though they try it’s seems like the trio are getting too old now, and the scripted humour is just too forced.

Welcome to your new Top Gear presenters!

When did Top Gear become the leather jacket club?

The thing that made the original Top Gear so great with the different personalities/perspectives of the hosts. The new cast looks like they're all vying to be the cool kid of the bunch. I am not familiar with the two new hosts but I hope they can find an entertaining dynamic.

PS -> Harris will always be cool in my book because he's such an unabashed car nerd.

Don't know how to feel as I haven't seen the last season's episodes, mostly because it was difficult to get access to. That said, from what I've watched, I liked Rory.

Top Gear's getting right northern!

I'm okay with this line up.

Really?! When I saw this announced I thought it was a joke by one of these parody sites like the Daily Mash. It turns out it's true.

To anybody who doesn't know who Paddy McGuinness is, he's famous for being a comedian's mate, and is living proof that it's possible to fill a 20,000 seat arena by telling jokes about women taking a long time to get ready when going out. He's the comedian for people with no sense of humour.

Utterly irritating.

At this point I'm not sure what the wishlist for a Top Gear presenter is, but I can see Paddy and 'Freddie' having a good on screen raport, and that's gotta be key. Auntie is clearly targeting a certain demographic here, the white male 'lad', I can see it working...

... to be honest, given the time that the Clarkson/May/Hammond combo had to ferment and distil, I could see lots of combos working... sadly, people expect an immediate result.

I think that's EXACTLY what they're aiming for, and it's what made me go off the original Top Gear trio. Lad's "banter" is so 1990s.
