I think that's EXACTLY what they're aiming for, and it's what made me go off the original Top Gear trio. Lad's "banter" is so 1990s.

Clarkson virtually personified the grumpy old man cliche for a generation, and with that he has influenced an entire generation who now believe that being hyperbolically critical of things is how "it's" done. Lad banter might be 90's (I wa'r a lad in' t' 90's), but I'm not sure it's worse than what the old trio offered.

So a Fifth Gear redux? I was a loyal fan of the show, but that formula didn't work and the show was cancelled.

Surprised Rory Reid got canned, he seemed to have good chemistry with Chris H.

The last season was so horrible to the point where I considered it on par with GT Season 1. GT Season 2 in my opinion was way more entertaining.

The show started to die a couple seasons before Clarkson went full diva boxing. That fight was just gasp of air escaping its lungs.

The last season was so horrible to the point where I considered it on par with GT Season 1. GT Season 2 in my opinion was way more entertaining.

I liked Rory, dude was chill.

So a Fifth Gear redux? I was a loyal fan of the show, but that formula didn't work and the show was cancelled.

Actually, Fifth Gear is still being made, and the latest series is currently being broadcast on some obscure satellite TV channel called "Quest". It's spent the last few years moving between various obscure satellite channels.

Its rather stupid in Norway we get ads for 5 Gear but not the program. Ditto for the new Magnum P.I. thye showed the ads played the first episode and poof it disappeared, but they still advertise it.

I’ve been watching GT, it’s fun, it’s basicaly what top gear would like to be but can’t because they can’t find the talent to get them there.

The last episode was crap, apart from 2 car reviews from Matt and Harris. Funny how Rory said "see you next time" on Extra Gear when he isn't coming back. This has been potentially the worst series of Top Gear since the first seasons of it.

Oh the sheer idiocy of blaming everything but the driver...

The day I got my driving license, my father sat me down and explained to me that this is a lethal weapon. It is upon the driver to judge the weather conditions, the condition and abilities of the car he drives, the environment and his skills at that given time, before driving off. At the end of the day, the responsibility lies with the driver, not the machine.

I gave previous line-up a chance, and for me they were starting to do quite OK. This time however it looks boring and fake from the start. I will not spend time seeing this "new" Top Gear.
