2026 Mercedes GLE/GLS Facelift

The new GLE/GLS also houses a supercomputer that runs the MB.OS operating system. It has all the features found in the GLC.

MB.OS and MBUX

MB.OS, the Mercedes‑Benz Operating System, transforms the GLE into an intelligent companion that thinks, learns and evolves with its driver. MB.OS integrates and controls every aspect of the vehicle. This supercomputer uses AI and powerful chips and is connected to the Mercedes‑Benz Intelligent Cloud. This allows for frequent over-the-air updates, enabling the GLE to remain up to date and attractive for many years.

Except for the screen...makes zero sense.

Next-gen plans are shoring up to be interesting. They're keeping it on a beefy SUV-only platform but it will be more flexible. Design freeze is already done.

For BMW it's the exact opposite, they update all their cars to the newest tech the first chance they get.
So it's entirely MBs own doing. Doesn't have to be like that.
You mean like grafting the front of the iX3 onto the existing M5? No thanks. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

Tech wise, see the posts made by @leylandi

No clearly not what I mean.

You can see I saw that.
That makes it even more awkward the GLE doesn't have the new screen, but whatever.
I agree and mentioned the screen in my first post. You can see that.

The point about the grafting of the iX3 front is that BMW is not perfect when it comes facelift time either.

I don't want to be that guy , but....

We are in 2026. What does that "supercomputer" even mean? Almost every car this day has OTA . Even the older MBUX OS

BMWs latest UI looks way different than the older version, than MB.OS latest version looks with it's predecessor

We are also in 2026 , and MB still failed to push even the smallest update to it's top feature in W223 (as they marketed it) , the Augmented Reality HUD.

That feature had so much potential . And still has . And still it's the same as it was in day 1

That’s gonna be awesome, Can’t wait to see the next M-class.

Will the EV version be based on the same car?
