M5 The New BMW M5 (F90) Driven

The BMW M5 is a high-performance variant of the BMW 5 Series marketed under the BMW M sub-brand. It is considered an iconic vehicle in the sports saloon category. The first M5 model was hand-built beginning in late 1984 on the E28 535i chassis with a modified engine from the M1 that made it the fastest production saloon at the time. M5 models have been produced for every generation of the 5 Series since 1984, with occasional gaps in production (1995 to 1998, 2023 to 2024). Official website: BMW M

It's positive that you admit what you're doing is wrong. First step is a success. I know a good shrink, you helped me to go to a Ford. Maybe my shrink can make you less anti.

Haha Ile give it some serious consideration.

So far from these reviews if any of you m5 fans still think this will be light years in front of a e63s you might be in for a surprise:)

Light years, we are not in an episode of Star Trek ;)
What I can read M5 is better allrounder and can be more relaxing but can turn into a beast if you want to. E63 more towards a sportier approach, more in your face all the time. You win some categories and loose some, can't be the best in every single category. Both brands have different approaches, more for the masses to choose between I guess.

There will be future comparisons and BMW seem to be working on M5 CS, M5 Japanese Edition and M5 Smurf limited edition , and fanboys will continue arguing and fighting...

Guess the M5 will win German comparisons and might loose the British ones... we'll see next year if this prediction comes true.

Yes and that is great hell I'm more into what BMWs approach is today it's after all a 5er.
But but this is a BIG but..
You been around long enough to know that back in the days of w210 vs e39 and w211 vs e60 when the m5 was a balls to the walls sedan and the benzes were softer they (BMW fans) hailed them as god and called the benzes all kinds of shit.
What makes me want to rub it in their faces and come in to this thread and laugh about is how all of the sudden it's not that important being raw.. now all of the sudden it's all about comfort and useability.. when we (MB fans) said the f#cking f1 derived v10 in the e60 with that Smg was to harsh it was nonsense and we were old farts for thinking so.

So anyone with bmw affiliations feel free to answer .. why has it changed.

And basically the only answer that is true is.. idgaf what it is like as long as it has a propeller on the bonnet.

How does that stack up against the e63s?

Now I’m impressed, it did well against the E63s, well done BMW !!

Sounds like the excuse making has started. Sounds like it's a just as dull as the regular 5-Series from a character/sporty point of view, especially vs the E63.

I think F90 is slightly faster, but I want to see production models to make sure which one has best acceleration.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
