Consumption is surprising by virtue of not being more different IMHO. Bespoke platform and massive focus on aerodynamics by Mercedes, versus BMW taking their aero inspiration from Stonehenge!
i7 has a cW figure of 0,24, which equals that of a Tesla Y-model. That’s hardly Stonehenge, 😉
Just for the sake of comparison with the real contendent, the S class (W223) has a cW figure of 0,22.
The difference between both in charging time and average charging power is still remarkable imo.

This data is not given anywhere officially. Both cars have the same height from the seat to the roof, despite the dome shape of the EQS roof and the 30 mm lower general height of the car. This can be achieved only with lowering the seat. Here's a photo on which it can be seen how inclined the rear seat bank of the EQS is-it's higher at the end and much lower where the butt seats. And the level of the feet to the level of the butt is not distanced enough for a comfortable position

I hope @Serpens would shed more light on this with his experience of both cars.

Let’s be clear- the EQS rear is not a penalty box where rear occupants are suffering. The 7-series and S-class rear seat are indeed more comfortable though in my experience exactly because the EQS seat is mounted lower to the floor. The backrest of the EQS is also slightly more upright than normal if you don’t get the adjustable seats.

If your goal is to be driven around by someone else on a normal basis then that could be a reason to pass on the EQS.

I havn't meant that is a torture to seat there. But if you have to travel 5 hours and especially if you suffer from disk herniation (which is quite common after some age) this sitting position doesn't spread the weight corectly to release the spine and it becomes an issue.

Haha, classic land of the blind, one eyed is the king.

2 f#cking ugly whales that is barely technically competent. German car fans should be ashamed of both. But most here are brand whores, so will argue for 85 pages which is the one eyed king.

Thanks Maga ;)

Yes it is. Very, very bad.
Winning this test from the 7er doesn't change a damn thing about that. It only shows the i7 is maybe even worse.

And besides, the EQS was, is and will forever be a giant sales flop. Hopefully the i7 fares better. And I suspect it will, as it's ten times more easy on the eyes.
I saw an EQS briefly in Dubai last week and it appears to be quite sleek and long, but not ugly as I expected. Some of the pics do actually seem to bring out the worst of the design compared to real life. Although I still think the S-class is much more attractive.

Do they say what charger did they use? Cause that is so ridiculously bad, especially i7. For comparison Lucid takes about 12 mins and Model S about < 20 mins for ~200 miles.
AMS is only writing ‘fast loading charger’ and are not going into detail. They are usually charging at Ionity stations which can charge with up to 350 kW.

It’s the only relevant comparison test, as far as I’m concerned.
Until a year ago me too, but despite the fact that the sales of the EVs will possibly be lower than those of their ICE "brothers", the fact that these comparisons come first does not seem to be by chance, as what matters most is to show the "technological innovation" and in that the EVs are stealing the scene
