Being the ultimate is not about speed, it`s about engineering efficiency.........

......With that said the Bugatti Vayron falls short of every other car on this list in the efficient-engineering ratio.
If that is the criteria for being the "Best", then none on this list could be called the best - are you seriously telling me that a Toyota Prius is a greater vehicle GTA7.5?

imo the veyron is just a pig.. to much weight.. over engineerd .. made the wrong way for a sports car.. with a conept first.. and then built around it.. should be the other way around..
but kudos of VAG engineers to still pull it off :D
let me guess.....you think the Pagani Zonda is better :D

If the best cars in the world are made just to "make money" then we would not see the fantastic cars we have today.

No, keep in mind that the Bugatti is a supercar. That has to be put into perspective but why does it have to cost $1.3million, weigh over 4000lbs, and have a quad-turbo W16 with 1001hp to reach a top-speed of 250mph. I read it vibrates pretty badly at that speed btw! To me this is very wasteful engineering. There are much better more efficient ways to ring out these numbers than the overall packaging Bugatti has to offer.

Take the Porsche CGT for example, it might not reach a top speed of 250mph
(I think it`s like 207mph) but it`s overall engineering-efficient ratio is put to far better use than the Bugatti`s.

If I buy the Bugatti Veyron I`d be paying about $850,000 more than the Porsche CGT for a car that only goes 43mph faster and I doubt the Bugatti
is as thrilling to drive as the Porsche.

For a car that costs $1,3million the Veyron should be bullet proof off the lot
in my book.

Hehehe... I was fooling around...

Veyron for everybody!!!

Its my personal opinion, every must vote for it!!! Argh!

I think this is coming down to the wire between the M5 and the S class. Lets see if we can get a couple more votes and then if an admin could close the pole we can finally come up with a victor.

looks like we have our winners. The M5 and the New S class from mercedes.

I'm not surprised - too many blinkered fan boys around here

you know I like BMW but the only car I have driven on the list is the M5 and (330i) , its a fantastic car. You would love it to if you driven one. My vote has nothing to do with being a fanboy.

^^I drove the M5 for the first time yesterday! (unfortunately I had to drive it like a Grandma because of my parents-i didnt even put it in M-mode!) I have also driven the 330i which is absolutely awsome....

I hate you (I also hate Just_me too) there go your chances of ever having a thread dedicated to you from me. :angryfire

Ha! Jokes and monumental jealously aside, that's fab news Matt. Look forward to pics and driving impressions from you when you've finally managed to unleash the dogs of war.

Let's keep this on topic about the GCF's Best Car Poll.

Now, here's the low-down. [Ooo I'm going to get flack from Roberto for this]
Roberto, despite my mammoth appreciation and vociferous support for the Veyron, in truth, I also voted M5.

Why? Well quite simply, it's half the car that the Veyron is (massively subjective, I concede). At a tenth of the price. The M5 was, is and hopefully will continue to be the four door car that I lust to own more than any other. It carries an enormous emotional cachet with me and I can't wait to drive this new one. Sadly the connection I have in that area doesn't appear to be such a sure bet any longer. There are certain real-world practicalities such as attainability that influenced my choice even though I lent such keen support for the Veyron.

Turncoat that I am! :icon_redf

You'll forgive me? :eusa_pray

No, you get no flack from me Martin - I think the M5 is a spectacular car.

Personally, I would rather own an M5 the a Veyron - I would feel much more confident driving the BMW....but I still stand by my opinion.

If you want to see it click on the best two cars in the world in my signature.

But I do agree with you on the M5. I actually voted for the 330i believe it or not. That car is amazing to drive. But like I said I didnt get to push the M5 like I wanted to. :(

This is tough choice...but I had to go for the S. That is the only car I've driven on the list and I actually have in my future. My father is planning on buying one either at the end of this year or early next year. The other cars, I love to death but I'm very realistic. If this was a fantasy vote then it would be between Zonda_F and the Veyron but it's not. I don't see myself being able drive one of those really high end cars (70k+) anytime soon, and hope that someday my stars align the right way and I can become rich enough to do what I dream. The 330i is great, I haven't driven the new one but have driven the old one and it was great but ever since owning the M3 I don't care much for them and my cousin has one (e46 3er coupe). So keeping that in mind, that's why I chose the S because I've driven one and I absolutely believe that after that car my dad doesn't have to buy another car for a very very long time.

This is a hard one, but I would go for the 997 911 S!

Given the choice though I'd go for the turbo!
