Not trying to incite any flaming here... but Roberto, can you outline why you think the Veyron is in a class of it's own ?
:)
Well I haven't driven one BB, but I'll take it from a trusted source - if Jeremy Clarkson thinks this car is incredible, then it has got to be someting special.

Watch this video and tell me you're not convinced: BUGATTI VEYRON

Re: THE ACTUAL POLE (disregard that last one)

Zonda F for me..
Call me when the veyron beats the zonda F around a track.. until then i rest my case..
and i where to vote of a non supercar.. the S class gets it..

Re: THE ACTUAL POLE (disregard that last one)

I just realized that video I posted was not the full thing - but it gives the general impression...and what a sound that thing makes.

Artist, I love the Zonda F very much - but as Clarkson said on his TG [Bugatti Veyron] review "we will never see another car like it again" - the Zonda is an awesome car - but the Bugatti Veyron is "stratospheric" (I had to check my dictionary to make sure that word could actually be used in that context - LOL)

Re: THE ACTUAL POLE (disregard that last one)

mehh engenering wise its superb.. but it doesent do anything for me..
its like a big GT car.. and not a very well designed on top of that.. and it costs mad money so no thnx from my side

PS
Dont listen so much to clarkson .. he said that the 3er was the uglyiest car of the year.. that tells alot about him :D

Re: THE ACTUAL POLE (disregard that last one)

Veyron for me.... that thing is beyond sport.

Re: THE ACTUAL POLL (disregard that last one)

"Well if the nurburgring record.. and the TG record.. isnt enough.. then i dont know what is."-Artist

Don't forget that it is THE perfect car!

Zonda F for me too!

I'm sure VW stock holders are pleased about that one...

Actually if you look a little deeper, I, as a VW shareholder might, be miffed at the loss-making Veyron program but what I will be impressed with is the quality, ingenuity, determination and ability to execute on the part of the Veyron's engineers. VW has shown the world that they have the technological know-how to produce the fastest road going car ever seen.

So, it might not lap the 'Ring in a CGT or Zonda F bashing lap time but come up against one of these on the Autobahn and one will appreciate a whole new dimension in the concept of SPEED.

In years gone by the Veyron will be remembered for being the first ICBM on 4 wheels. The Veyron isn't a car as much as a weapon of mass destruction. Whether, in that, lies its appeal, I can't quite say for myself but I will acknowledge the superlative achievement that the Veyron represents. One can't ignore the facts; irrespective of a purist's appreciation of things Macca F1, Zonda F and all, the Veyron is now a reality. It's here and it's earth-shattering.

...and in my humble opinion, given the unsustainable consumption of fossil fuels, we'll never see anything like it again.

S6>550 and E500
S8>760il
S class> 7 series and A8
CLS brought a whole new market
Zonda F> carrera GT and Mucielago
Veyron> any car out there.
Carrera S> M6 and Vantage -----> no way! M6 > Carrera S/ Vantage

That's better ;)

Nah...

Vantage < Carrera S <> M6

Now's that's empirically correct I reckon.

here we go again ;) "empirically" SAY WHAT???

Re: THE ACTUAL POLE (disregard that last one)

empirical
(also empiric)

• adjective based on observation or experience rather than theory or pure logic.

— DERIVATIVES empirically adverb.

— ORIGIN Greek empeirikos, from empeiria ‘experience’.

Given my observations of the various evaluations between these cars I can safely say that based on empirical evidence the M6 and Carrera S are different enough for neither to hold an outright advantage over the other and that Vantage has not achieved its design intent of vanquishing (play on words geddit, geddit?!?) the 911 as the king of sports cars.

Sweet mercy, do I have to explain everything I say these days.

Tonsil or tonsils - y'know: those funny useless lumps of tissue either side of your throat, the ones the doctor looks at when he says "Open up and say ahhh...".
