A) This is looking great with each new pic...the interior is a couple steps above the W221 which is commendable, and

B) I am just happy we are finally getting pics and info with regards to the S-class in the S-class thread because, lately, there's been an excess amount of non-related stuff being posted here. (BTW, I am aware of the irony of me posting this as this is somewhat unrelated. But I get tired of coming here to see 3 people point out that we are on page 222 of the W222 thread. /Cranky rant)

EDIT: one very minor criticism regarding the interior....I do wish the buttons to the left of the steering mimicked the toggle-like appearance like that of the HVAC controls for the sake of harmony.

The trim doesn't line up perfectly though, but true the gap is miniscule.

I think full name is: Metalized Ash Wood. According to presentation slides which leaked few months ago. It looks great.

How un-S-class does that look!? IMO.

And I am referring to the trim-combo choice. I like it, just without the 'normal' darker wood veneer the cabin looks...'sporty' LOL
Btw, it's a very unique light wood grain finish.

I do not care for shown color combo. Of course it probably looks different in person. I wonder if that is a black or grey leather. Also I wonder why they decided to angle the arm rest upward. Would it have not been better to just have a flat arm rest on the door?

Thanks, missed that info when I posted.(y)

So far, just based on these spypics, I like the new interior so much more than the W221, and I quite liked the W221. I wish they were able to incorporate one small detail from the W221 into the W222 and that's those door pockets built into the armrest. I know it's such a small thing, but I liked how regal it looked and the idea of discretely placing your belongings in there. With this more organic flowing motif, it'd be difficult to incorporate into the W222.

Only 33 more days until the official onslaught of pictures and info. Truly a much anticipatory event in the auto industry.

I like the old-school steering wheel a lot, but I hope the AMG models have a totally different wheel with a dramatically different design.

Everything in the interior looks good and classy. I swear, I have until now not experienced such a 180 in my head in my 'automotive life'.

nice pics :)
its getting warmer :)

is it just my personal impression or does the angle of the dashboard (the part above the wood on the passenger side) have two different angles?
compared between the white leather cockpit and the black leather cockpit?

Yes, yes! Spending some time in a CL cabin at JIMS, it so much impressed me, so much so as to thinking by myself 'genious' like a secret compartment.

Could also be that stuff that's legal in your beautiful country Klier:whistle::D Seriously though the cabin has a look of perfection to it, apart from the LED screen that takes the Swiss Watch Maker perception away and the 4x main airvents that is a bit kitch for my taste IMO of course;) Looking at the bigger picture it oozes class.
