are they going back to the roots? more elegant and slim?
or did they find out that the old silhouette was more popular?

I don't know if these have been posted before, but these just came up on Jalopnik.

All I can say is that.... BMW just got did.

this S class isthe shit and then some, it puts all the competition to shame from interior to exterior, this Designo interior is by far on par with the Flying spur hell it can even stand a chance against the Ghost, i like how organic and curvy the inteiror is and how classicly modern the exterior is designed this is an A+

Yeah, I'm still not sure how I feel about the dual screens, but that cross stitching on the dash really does it for me.

The NEGATIVE
BUT WTF with the two HUGE screens!? So cheap, ugly and ludicrous even redicilous. WHY oh why does it always have to be like this? Why does perfection always has to have a blob of sh!t on top of it, OMG:eek:

I was looking forward to your opinion on those screens Naas mate.... let me tell you mine: I actually thing they were going to be much worse/out of place. IMO they did a brilliant job to blend in such large screens, at least from what I see on this pic:

I was expecting the worse, but they are not bad looking at all.

Other thoughts:
-After two or three years of hating just about every new Mercedes presented, I've fallen in love again with the brand. This W222 is simply fenomenal, on a quick thougth it's the better looking S class of all time, just after the W126, and just like the W126, a car on par or better than their british rivals. (y)

-The only and minor negative for me are the headlights, they could be better resolved and less "loaded" with gimmick, but not deal breaker at all.

-If the C class comes looking close to this W222, then I'll be the first to buy one. I can't afford the S class, but the C is between my reach, so finger crossed.

-And if the BigBenzGirl gets a W222, I'll happily change my relationship status :D

I don't have a problem with those screens at all. I mean we're all so busy looking at iPads and Galaxies and Lumias and iPhones and and and... It's time now that the graphical presentation of instrumentation progressed to this level. It's the future and I think it looks great. Look, I'm always happy looking at a good ol' analogue style dial but this presentation of information seems to be the way to go now. See y'all in 10 minutes - leaving my PC and going upstairs to carry on ogling from my iPad. Bedtime.

:wideyed::woot: Oh dear Lord! I've just died and gone to heaven today. It's even better than I expected it to be! I was looking for March 26th, but I am so caught off-guard by this, that my head is stuck in the clouds. I can't even find the words to describe how I'm feeling about seeing this after years of waiting(eons better than the W221).

The anti-line clan had nothing to worry about after all. The exterior is overall finely executed, it comes as a breath of fresh air after the SL and CLA. There is definitely nothing original about the exterior, as was the case in the past. The read is Maybach-inspired, the sides are clearly CLS-esque and the front is vintage S-Class from 220 to 221. Following the E-class facelift, there is nothing new to the exhaust tips and the rear and front skirt treatments either. I cannot recall a S-class that did not set a direction, but rather took it in on all sides. Clearly, the 2nd generation CLS is the trend-setter here, and perhaps Maybach in 1998.

The interior is where this S-class makes its mark on the MB design language. Very fresh and at the same time walking a fine line that takes the fight right to the Rolls Royce Ghost and Bentley FS, if not higher in both ranges. The leather squares are most likely designo-exclusives, but nonetheless they are a very original touch.

After reading the print above, the features again promise to revolutionize the space. I do not recall the 221 pulling any world firsts in this area, unlike the 220 before it. I look forward to read more on what the 222 brings.

The meaty stuff for me is when the full technical specs are released, and of course, the AMGs.

Finally, IT IS HERE, B!TCHES! March 18, 2013 - the first time seeing the new naked S-Class. Certainly an event on par with the Pope's coronation on Friday. (The coincidence this time is that the pope was recirculated in almost exactly the same time: Spring 2005 - Winter 2013!!!)

That is it for me right now--going back to enjoy the pictures. Color me impressed and satisfied.

P.S. This is not a leak, it is a Mercedes-controlled strategic dissemination. Pictures are way clear, very professional-grade. Their accompaniment with official interior pictures is not an accident.

It is to me one of the best looking S classes ever made.. its that W126 good..

And yes there are traits from the greatest S classes in it, especially the W220 which was so sleek and elegant.

Im so thrilled and Happy..this has exceeded my expectations by a great margin, and trust me my expectations were not low to start with.

Looks very much like it. Take the attractive features of the W221 and mix them with the stylish cues of the W220.5(2002-05). Fan Zhang, Gorden Wagener, and the rest of the W222 design team did a supreme job here. This car is absolutely striking and enormously beautiful, which is still an understatement! We have yet to even see the rest of the W222 line-up, let alone the basic chassis in professional exterior photos. Some may say it's not original, but at the same time this company invented the automobile, so that's a tad hypocritical.

With every new Benz I try really hard to find something to like... and it never works... they are that ugly!
Now I'm trying to find something not to like... but this car is almost perfect in my eyes... yeah ok, the headlights are not perfect but they are ok and suit the front very well... this front actually suits the S-Class way better than the E-Class just because it's done from scratch and there's no upper edge on the front fenders... they are perfectly round to suit the whole face of the car.

PS: Ahhh and one more thing... did I already mentioned that I ADORE IT!?

Simply exquisite..... I'm a staunch BMW , but I can say that this is the only case where I'd choose a car from another car manufacturer over the equivalent BMW (which says a lot )...... the thought of owning a short-wheelbase S500 with a black Designo interior makes me a little bit gooey.... the interior looks so beautiful and so well made (whisper it, better than those of the Phantom, Ghost and Mulsanne, IMO, by a considerable margin ).. the styling is so much better than I thought it would be, so elegant.... Bravo Mercedes-Benz, bravo :love::notworthy:

Perfection redefined. The new S-Class. And the world stood still.
