5 Series (F10/F11/F07/F18) [Spyshots] BMW 5 Series F10 Facelift Spy Information

The BMW F10/F11/F07/F18 is the sixth generation of the BMW 5 Series, manufactured for model years 2010–2017. The body styles of the range are: 4-door sedan/saloon (F10), 5-door estate/wagon (F11, marketed as "Touring"), 5-door fastback (F07, marketed as "Gran Turismo"), and 4-door long wheelbase sedan (F18, sold only in China and the Middle East).
The front should retain the elegance and class it has now, it just needs to be further polished and given a bit more character. Right now it looks like an unfinished version of a solid idea.

Still, with the M Pack and a blackened grille the F10's front actually can be transformed to look really aggressive whilst retaining its inherent class and dignity. If it wasn't so damn FLAT it would be great.

Oh God no. It is not a severe facelift it is more on the same lines as the larger 7er in the amount of changes evident.

That makes more sense. However, I do want the next 5er going down that line. This one is elegant the way it is, and sporty/aggressive with M-Pack, as K-A pointed out. This is my fav sedan in this segment, one that I might pick up eventually or get my new bro-in-law to get. Currently, I'm satisfied with the last traditional 3-er Coupe to be made, the E92 328i. ;)

What I love the most about the M Sport F10 (especially in Silver or White) is how "European" it looks to me. It has a very Euro-Sporty look IMO. That's one thing the W212 always lacked to me.

I'm thinking of considering one when my friend takes over my E Lease next month (most probably). Though I vowed to get something a little less "customary" than a Midsize Sedan.... it's just hard to resist the all-around package the car offers. Also, even though BMW does respectable and subtle facelifts, if any super cool cues show up for the facelift I'd hate myself for getting the car just less than one year before that.

Dude, I love the 535i. My time spent with the car was great. It has all the power needed for everyday use and is perfectly well behaved when not on the power. Just a great all rounder. Interior is top notch and ride was even better than the E I tested. I do like the E, but I love the 5er.

Also, as SCOTT pointed out, they won't be making drastic changes. If anything, you will be losing out on some "options" becoming standard which is what usually happens with FLs anyway.

Yeah, really considering it. A white M Sport 535i is just about as perfect as a Sedan gets to me. Saw one the other day and it just got me going.

I'd maybe wait for the FL K-A. The design might stay the same, but there are supposed to be some technical changes as well...

Yeah wouldn't be smart to get it just 8-10 months beforehand.... I mean, wouldn't sound so bad today, but I know in 8-10 months from now.... The car still seems like it just came out yesterday, time must be flying.

The technical changes I'm sure will be pretty cool.

the f10 boards are saying that the LCI will be showing up for 2014 model year in the US. Which means it would launch the same year as the E Class facelift, which is odd as the 5 series always gets its face lift 1 year after the e class. it would also be odd because it would assume that it should be shown already since the E Class has already been. Can anybody clarify?

The current generation of the BMW 5-Series was first introduced for the 2011 model year, so in BMW tradition a facelifted model should be expected around the 2015 model year.

Right on cue, prototypes for this facelifted model have been spotted, revealing a number of elements we can expect on the future 5-Series.

As this is only a mid-cycle update, the changes to the car will be minimal, with the biggest departure being new bumper and light designs.

Up front we can see the LED daytime running lights of the headlights feature a squarer design than the units on the current model, while at the rear the taillights feature more pronounced reflectors. The rear bumper and integrated exhaust tips also appear to be adopting a look similar to what we saw on the latest 2013 BMW 7-Series.

It’s still too early to determine whether any significant changes will be made to the mechanical package of the 2015 BMW 5-Series, though it’s possible the current engine lineup will be refined to deliver more power and improved economy. Currently, the 528i delivers 240 horsepower, the 535i puts out 300 horsepower and the 550i offers 445 horsepower.

Inside, expect an updated navigation system, a revised menu for the iDrive system and more voice-activated controls as part of BMW's expanding ConnectedDrive technology portfolio.

Look out for the reveal of the 2015 BMW 5-Series late this year or in early 2014. Note, we've also seen similar updates on prototypes for the 5-Series Gran Turismo and we're likely to see them on the ActiveHybrid 5 and the high-performance M5 as well.

I see they said "2015 model year". In the U.S this WOULD make sense as 5ers always get their facelift a year after the E-Class does (like clockwork, as the 5er always comes out a year after the E does), however on the Bimmer forums there's a debate going on and the most certain Members assure that for the F10 the facelift will be coming out in 2014 model year (same year as the E-Class this time), which I find odd as you'd think they would have revealed it by now if so.

Excited to see what this brings. I can see the less-slat look on the grille, yet can't tell what they mean by "pronounced reflectors"? The reflectors are the thin pieces on the bottom of the bumper, the taillights don't have any reflectors. It looks like they're identical taillights with what will be a different ending form, which I'm curious to know how that goes.

They just updated the Nav for 2013 models so it'll be interesting to see just how good it gets again if they truly do upgrade it again. The Nav right now is awesome. In fact, from what I understand, the 2013 cars got an all new Chip that makes the car processes much faster than the old one, which seems true as all the tech/electronics/gadgets on this car is damn near instantaneous. Quite a contrast compared to the comparatively "wait and load" effect on my old E's.

The other day I saw a post where EnI was saying BMW was putting some spice on this LCI.

What do you think it could mean, guys?
