No. Remember sketches look different than the actual car because they don't concern theirselves with the realistic properties to begin with.

I keep telling the BMW sale people in Sweden the exact same thing! It's very unprofessional to lie to people about this. They say its a minor facelift when in reality the whole engine is changed (i would care less about an actual facelift at this point). Its a major change if any. Sure i'm in the process of buying the car so i been digging into the details and also found out about the problem with timing chain which they also seem so ignorant about.
Still if they dont know they should not claim to know and just simply say they do not know.

That's what I heard. July 2016. But the M135i currently has 326hp from the N55 engine, so I would imagine the M140i will get a slight power boost when it gets the B58 engine.

IMO, you're wrong. HP is only a single metric. You have to consider power & torque curves, efficiency, durability, engine size and weight. Not to mention how much all of this is then affected by gearing, traction and total vehicle weight.

Picking an engine based solely on HP is like picking a dessert based solely on grams of sugar per serving.

IMO, you're wrong. HP is only a single metric. You have to consider power & torque curves, efficiency, durability, engine size and weight. Not to mention how much all of this is then affected by gearing, traction and total vehicle weight.

Which is why I say 326 PS sounds weak, not that the engine itself is weak. When one of these brands launches a new engine you expect it so have a little more power than the competition.

I agree, especially since the next big BMW reveal is some time in May (May 7th?).

True. That's because many people incorrectly assume that HP = performance and little else matters.

I remember when f01 7er was introduced along with e90 LCI in 2008. with new 30d diesel with 245hp, and performance of that 330d was very close to old(in that moment) 335d with 286hp....

@vampyren the greater the issue, the less BMW pretends to know about it. That is my personal experience from BMW group ownership for the last six years.

They know they fracked up but they also know that if this is confirmed, BMW will have to pay for the recurring design/construction flaws.
