back on topic but i just don't see that much of an improvement, the headlights might be slimmer but you know that doesn't really fix the problem, it will only look less bad. what they need to do is to change the shape of the headlights, the edge near the kidney grille is just too thin and the whole lights should be less triangular imo. Don't really care about the F20, it's a hatch, but if the 2er share this face, how disasterous would that be.

Many thanks for that Tomazino! That would be really hot imo. Hope it'll be something similar and quite frankly that's what I expect as well.

The question that must be answered is why is only the front camouflaged?
If it is an LCi should the rear or other areas be disguised?

Here is a crude representation of the BMW 2er Coupe following on from my 4er and X5 previews which shows the sportier look for the Coupe especially with its sharper front lights that are not only more proportionate but visually lowers the front end of the car. If you look at the Spy photographs you can see the simularities especially at the front of the car. The 2er Cabro prototype has further disguise on the front of the car but Bimmertoday has a pictue of a cabrio on a trailer which its front profile matches the side view of the proposed LCi.

yea now scott admits the F20's headlights aren't proportionate.

Exactly why it's impossible to trust marketing.

There were a select group defending the F20's front, and naturally they will turn and call "flaws" as BMW changes it.

I've been harping on this toward M-B fans as well, every new car you hear "well the last one was too much for old people and they needed to change and do something different", then 4 years later, they say the same about the car they previously made those same statements about, etc.

Very cloudy.

yea well anyway, i hope they do change the F20 enough to make it look reasonably good. It could be my next car if it looks anything like the outline “tomazino" drew above. 2er is hot but for me i would like the practicality of a hatch.

^Still not convinced. Ugly headlights will remain ugly it seems.

I hope i'm wrong though.

A mere & silent "nose job" (grille area treatment, bumper treatment, air-intake treatment) ... making the nose sharper looking (sharper lines, shaper edges, more angular & pointy nose, more prominent 3D surfaces on the front end) - to enhance the aggressiveness of the look (adding a more predatory look, and losing the "piggy" look of current nose). All (regular, Lines & M-Sport) cars will get a new nose. It will be a MY change, not a real facelift. I guess they will premiere the new 1er nose look sometimes in-line with the 2er premiere. No major changes otherwise. I'm not seeing any significant headlight graphics changes at all - the coronas look exactly the same to me.

^Not glad to hear that.

I guess we'll have to wait till LCI premiere for a new headlight & tail light graphics. I'm not sure they will change the cluster designs with LCI either.

I'm more bothered about the fact the Active / Gran Tourer will be badged & marketed as a 2-series, not 1-series! Does that indicates the next gen. of 2er (just like next gen. 1er) will be FWD & based on UKL platform????? (n) Business wise it makes much more sense than putting it on modular RWD-matrix. That indicates 3er/4er will be the entry RWD BMW again - and will share some other components (like major controls) with 5er, 6er, 7er etc as well. While UKL-based cars (incl 1er & 2er) will have much simpler & less tech-advanced controls (eg. BlackPanel etc etc).

LOL, it's called a facelift my man. A facelift because the current snout is so horrible looking. And there is nothing silent about it. BMW is testing it in broad daylight like every other facelift/new model.

Is that true? Can know, but if yes, M2 will be the last BMW. I have no more faith. Hopefully FIAT will improve its quality and Audi will be well proportioned.

From an interview with Daniel Mayerle - the creative design director for BMW interiors.

ae: The future 1 Series GT will be based on the Active Tourer Concept. Will its interior have anything in common with the one on the concept?

DM: The Active Tourer Concept is actually a preview of the 1 Series GT and it does show the tendency, the direction in which BMW is heading for the future cars.

There's absolutely no indication regarding 1er GT in the field of trademark registration process. I'm monitoring that particular field constantly. But lately BMW have been rapidly filing the registrations for 2-Series Active Tourer and 2-Series Gran Tourer trademarks in markets across the globe. Eg. even in US the registration for 2-Series Gran Tourer is pending.

No word on eg 1-Series Active Tourer or Gran Tourer whatsoever! And we are about 6-8 months away from the first press launch (pics & info), so ... All the facts indicates the 2er Active Tourer (SWB) / 2er Gran Tourer (LWB) only.
