E-Class W213 [Spyshots] 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213)

The W213 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the fifth generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, sold from 2016 as a 2017 model. It succeeded the W212/S212 E-Class models. The coupe/convertible models share the same platform as the sedan/wagon, in contrast to the previous generation. The high-performance Mercedes-AMG E63 and E63S versions of the W213 have been available as well from 2016 (as a 2017 model), and these are the only versions with V8 engines.
Autobild did it again:

Those pictures were posted before in this thread. I hope the E-class doesn't look like this. The back lights don't look like anything else Merc has done lately and the front grill is too small compared to the S-class and C-class.

What? That pic doesn't look anything like that prototype. As usual the first test mules are very ugly in shape.

They always look horrible at this stage. Every S-Class had me worried up until the camo came off. I just can't see them goofing up this car with the C and S being stunners. This E should move the look onwards and have nearly an S-class level interior. E450 with 440hp I6 and 9G please and I'll buy.

the overall silhouette of this prototype does look like c-class .. and i like that
finger crossed..Mercedes is on the roll lately and hope it continues with the e-class

I think it looks a lot like a C class but with longer overhangs and maybe slightly longer wheelbase

I still see a lot of wedge in the profile.
Looks like an evolution on the current one, though it is too early to tell at this point.

It almost looks like the same car! I don't know how anyone can see any of the new C-Class in that test car.

It would be very unfortunate for Mercedes to not move the look far enough.

Wait, I`m going to retract my statement. If you look really close you can see the door line on the W213 is higher
suggesting the new anti-wedge shape. The somewhat sharp crease in the upper rear window,(which I never liked in the W212, is gone.) there are some differences and it looks like it will be for the better.

Loving the coupe and wagon rendering. I am not feeling sedan/wagon front though. I do imagine designing the front is going to be a challenge though. Before designers would on the 4-headlight design, which offered something distinctive. Now that design element is gone, it's got to be tough to offer something visually that stands out but is not too polarizing.

That coupe rendering looks great it would be nice if that became a reality. The Larson render of the sedan doesn't look too bad, but the wagon doesn't do it for me the back lights don't seem right.
