Will AMG obtain homologation for E63 S before 1st July 2016? I'm asking because if they do that before 01.07.2016, E63 will be a true AMG. If they do that on 01.07.2016 or later, W213 E63 will sound like Toyota Prius in electric mode. New law... :poop: Tests include revving and full throttle accelerations (uhm... is that a street race?), max 75 dB :banghead: "Funny" fact: Michelin Pilot Super Sport 285/35R20 noise level is 73 dB.

Is that European regulation, qwerty235?

Yes. I hope AMG will find a way around this law.
Here is the document: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/HTML/?uri=CELEX:32014R0540&from=EN
Warning: this is a typical legal document - long and overcomplicated. And it causes high blood pressure.

EU regulations typical: like often useless and unneeded for.
PS I'm used to it, so no high blood pressure here, but thanks for the warning :-)

I found a very interesting formula in this document:
ac95433ec4f3948c28acc15696f58d2b.webp

As you can see on the right side of the image, it leads to the conclusion that sum of 5 engine speeds (in revolutions per minute) equals 5 RPM :p
There are 3 test procedures:
1. In motion (acceleration and constant speed)
2. Stationary
3. ASEP
The formula is used to calculate the result of ASEP test. Is there a chance that this error will invalidate all procedures or at least ASEP?

Next E-Klasse W213 will premiere on NAIAS 2016 and NOT in Frankfurt 9/2015. It will have the double TFT screen a la S-Klasse, 4 round airvents, and a touchpad without the push button underneath it. The I6 diesel will have approx. 250 KW. It'll be about 5½ centimetres longer.

Good news, though I didn't expect it at Frankfurt this year. The Frankfurt show is already packed with the C Coupe, S Cabrio, GLS and probably a concept and some other production car I forgot about.

Damn. I'm liking this new E. Even though the current is good looking, it's still a little behind the some of it's rivals in the design dept.

The interior has aged way before the new one shows up.

I wouldn't necessarily say that it's dated. Just that with the new direction of "floating" screens, it is behind the curve. But that same is true for the 5er. So, it's in line with its competitors. Which is fine.

In fact it's so 'Avant-garde' it's sporting the edgy/squared design lnaguage that is only now surfacing at Audi and BMW. The E had it in 2009! Talk about being AHEAD of the curve! :D :ROFLMAO:
