Mr. Mercedes would disagree with you, considering that he had a pre-FL W204 and a pre-FL A4 B8.

LOL. You remember that thread. The design of W204 interior has not aged gracefully, and that is the worst photo with the worst colour combination posted above. It is horrid in that shot. That said it is built like a tank and the build quality is beyond reproach even if the plastic grains were not that refined. And I still stand by those observations many years back. The Audi felt plasticy and hollow next to the teutonic feeling C. Our interior still looks as good as the day we bought it in terms of wear and tear, I posted photos a few months back, whereas my aunts E90 3-series looks warn with soft touch coatings peeling all over the place. It feels 5 years older than the C.

If MB does go all fancy with these new interiors I really hope they maintain the build quality of the W204 and W212. I can tell you straight up as funky and cool as it may be my brand new A45 does NOT feel anywhere near as solidly built as our W204 and W212 which is a big shame!

This something I concluded after just sitting in both of these cars (and driving the A): there is only one Baby-Benz, and the story of Mercedes-Benz starts with it: the C Class.

(Don't get me wrong, the A/B/CLA are all more than fine cars, but they exist just so one can enter into the world of M-B.)

And the GLA. That's a pretty big line-up to dismiss ;)
The story starts with the A class and next gen the Star will start to shine, no doubt. This whole line you just mentioned can be considered to be a testcase for MB, as they made higher end cars for a century. The testcase has already proven to be rather succesful though, and next gen they will go out in full force....just like BMW did with the 1st gen 1er, first gen X3 and current X1. They were pretty low quality as well (though they drove well), testing the market so to speak.

A mix of both the C-Class and S-Class interiors... just imagine!
I'm sure that the E-Class' interior will once again have some distinctive design elements...
I'm almost 100% sure that it will be The Interior of all interiors... My expectations have never been so high!
Please Benz, deliver!

Agreed, E class will unite the best pasts of C and S interior, and will be the most refined of the three because the designers are getting better and better with this language.

I gravitate more and more towards the E as that sweet spot of a car that has at the same time the heft of a Mercedes sedan and the agility of that goes with it. I really like seeing the FL model on the road - it sparkles just as much as a brand new S class, and I have seen both on the road.

The C is also a model that I keep liking for the first time this much based on the latest teasers. However, I cannot help shake out the feeling that it is the very entry level. I went to the dealer back in 2009 to get a C class and I left the dealer disgusted after trying a C 350 Sport based on the plasticky interior, hard seats and overall tight cabin. I ended up picking something Asian, AWD, around the same price that had much more packed in that I could not resist the sense.

I'm glad to see MB is making their "own" interiors and not mimicking others. It looks simple and flowing, and coherent with the S class, unlike previously, you have basically very different interiors for each and every model and it seems like they had no theme or direction. Would love to see how the materials goes in real production form, under real natural lighting. No idea about how it feels in there but just by looking, it really do look more coherent than the F30, but is it that BMW and Audi cannot make such interior? Or is it for ergonomics? This interior is something you can even expect on something like a SLK, instead of a family sport sedan and either it's MB pushing the game forward, or they are going to far.
