I still don't understand why the C's release is so premature. They took forever to show us the S-class and now BOOM out of nowhere we have a new C-class.
the answer is simple, the new 3 is flying , and merc needs to respond.and its safe to say the s does not have much competition.
Don't forget, the E has the edge in interior space. (All this makes me wonder whats going to happen with the W213)I might be premature, but I can't help thinking this W205 makes the current E-Klasse more or less obsolete.

First, congrats with a very fine enginechoiceI do feel a little annoyed as my E500 is scheduled for production in late November........it will arrive in February next year.
I do like the new C's interior. It's definitely a big step forward. The new switchgear looks very classy.
First, congrats with a very fine enginechoice. Can understand your annoyment though. By the way, what new switchgear? ísn't it the same as in ML/E-Klasse?
My fault. You're absolutely right. The switches in the interior of the new C are of a new generation. Totally different from those of the face lifted E Class.
^ I think the SL is due for a drastic facelift in a couple of years.
WOW.....I don't know what to say here. Are you we being taken for a ride, is this a gag or something? That interior is better than the E-Class interior and except for the tacked on looking screen it is perfection. Looks like a baby S-Class. Airmatic on a C-Class? Ugh....wait let me catch my breath.
Yes everything else, except the S-Class will looked dated interior wise. Maybe the screen we saw on the CLS facelift is telling us that all Mercedes' will now get a hugely upgraded interior. Yeah the GL and ML need help now. I'll just be glad when Mecedes gets all their vehicles on the same page inside and out, or at least up to the same level of quality/presentation.
I just can't believe the timing of this car. It seems like it may be presented at the L.A. auto show next month, at least to the press and then go public at the Detroit show in Jan? Where is the S65 AMG? What is going on at Mercedes?
