The gauges don't look all that different from last-gen SL's design. Tubes with a screen on the bottom.

Here a pic from the current 5 Series. Look at the range and Efficient Dynamics gauges

Mercedes, it appears, seems to be confused with the C class interior layout of the screen. The current generation had the stand up screen then followed by an integrated in-dash screen and now the stand up screen is back again in the next model. The facelfited C has a much better interior design compared to the next generation's pictures here. The wood look horrible, more Formica like. I hope that the production models would offer many more "optional" wood and aluminum packages that would lift the interior environment. But in the end the interior look nothing special and Audi A4 is still the car to match for interior design imo.

The exterior on that renders above looks very good, I like it. The interior looks good, too. But there is one what disrupt me: the air vents. IMO the vents are to lay it on thick. At the S-Class the vents are more elegant. Below pics of C and S for comparison. But I have to wait till I see the new C in real life to make me a definitive verdict.

I get what you're saying, I guess I was looking at something different. As in, BMW's dials are actually all lit up by the display. If you turn the car off, everything disappears except for the silver rings and the needles. The Mercedes display is a little different (the numbers aren't lit up) and more of an evolution of gauges on earlier MB's in design, although the screen purpose does look like the BMW design. Small details I know...back on subject.

That exterior looks great; they nailed that piece. The interior, on the other hand...

Look, I honestly don't have as much against the floating screen as most here, but good lord that center console looks awful. The vents stick out way too much, and the whole thing looks like a cheap veneer. HUGE step down from the current generation. I don't see that ever winning me over.

out of everything the steering wheel look awesome and i'm just now realizing that the W205 will get the new COMAND design what the new S class got, it looks a lot fresher and stylish than the current command system, that was one thing I liked about BMW over Mercedes

An update from MB Passion. :)

New C-Class: Dealer premiere in March 2014

In mid March the new C-Class from Mercedes-Benz, the W205 series, celebrates its European showroom premiere.

World premiere in Detroit 2014 - Market launch in mid March

The next generation of the C-Class of the 205 series will comprise in addition to limousine (W205) and estate (S205) also a coupe (C205) and for the first time a convertible (A205). The sedan will probably already celebrate its European showroom premiere on 15th of March, 2014, and the U.S. launch follows just a few months later. The world premiere will be held at the North American International Auto Show 2014 in Detroit.

Coupe also as C300 4MATIC

While prototypes are still running test laps around Sindelfingen at present, some engines are already as good as certain. Thus among others the coupe will come to market as C300 4MATIC, as well as C400 and C400 4MATIC. The C400 will be propelled by a turbocharged V6 engine with 333 hp and 450 Nm of torque. The 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic gearbox should be introduced to the C-Class even faster than to the S-Class.

C220 BlueTEC also as a convertible

The coupe will also continue to be offered as C63 AMG with and without Performance Package (AMG S-Model), while the convertible, if it will be produced, arrives as C220 BlueTEC as well as C220 BlueTEC 4MATIC, and even as C300 BlueTEC HYBRID - which did not exist like that. The hybrid version will probably arrive in 2014. However, according to current rumors the convertible may have been delayed or cancelled.

Doubt they will do the vertical striped wood trim on the production cars. It is not on any other MB production car. And if it does make to production the interior designers need to be fired.

Yes, because from now until eternity MB will only have the same wood trim.

What a ridiculous statement.

I didn't mean to insinuate that MB will only use the same trim pieces from now until eternity. It is possible that this is new trim and I'll be the first to put my foot in my mouth when my "doubt" is proven wrong. Until then, I will continue to speculate as I please.
