Probably one of the best facelifts Audi has done.

Indeed. But not hard after the normal A8 looks so dull in the front.
I think their best facelift ever was the A4 B7!

@SKY you're right, very solid facelift. Lets hope BMW can turn an ugly car into something a whole lot better too. I was thinking about the 1er hatchback of course...

That´s much easier, just change the entire front, thinner lights ala 2er, wing kidneys and nicer front bumper and voila.

1er problem is that it´s got the ugliest front of the segment, but it also has the nicest proportons and side profile, and a more or less nice rear end. This A8 is just a giant A4 with no class at all. The front looks dull, the rear I don´t know what it looks like, and the proportions scream FWD. The interior is very solid on the contrary.

But Audi couldn´t fix this car, it need an entirely new design. With that in mind, this FL seem to be as close as they could to make the car nicer.

That reminds me of when BMW did with the facelift of the Bangle 7er.

That´s exactly the case. BMW couldn´t solve that the design was so absolutely fugly, but at least made it look easier to look at.

And even the "new" lighting system is not all that revolutionary & new as portrayed.

MB have Intelligent Lighting System for ages, and lately even on LED headlights if I'm not mistaken. And BMW has it to ... premiere with 7er LCI LED headlights.

...quite certainly the facelifted A/S8.

The "star" of Audis' IAA 2013 offerings will reportedly be a new Quattro Concept. A car considerably larger than the marvelous 2010 Quattro Concept as it is based on Audis' MLB-Evo architecture. It is said to feature the most powerful (non-tuner) version of the VW-Groups' 4.0 Biturbo V8 to date, boasting some 600+ HP. Rumoured to be very close to being "greenlighted", it will be Audis' "halo car".

I continue to wonder whether a rumored A9 will ever come to fruition.

Just testing, for now. The A8 have a big marketing in Asia. Who knows, maybe in future the Audi will build it in there, because of marketing.

It lacks drama in the front. There's too much plastic surface, like the 1er and there are no bold details, that say "this is a flagship sedan". The A8 can't rely on its sheer size to look top-of-the-line. It needs something distinctive!

Hi, my first post here. Nice to meet everyone

Speaking with people at Audi, I'd heard the A8 PI would also be lighter. No specifics, but a general statement. Although this was about 4 months ago.

I guess we'll find out shortly as dealers are being trained with respect to the car starting this week (from the UK at least).
