CLS [Spyshots] 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS - First Photos without Camouflage

The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023. The original model was a four-door sedan based on the Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. An estate (shooting brake) model was later added to the model range with the second generation CLS.

The foglights are a bit Porsche like (which is good)

So far so good....getting better and better actually. But come on now, release the damned official pics already. What's up with these German brands lately.....YAAAAWWN

Yeah. MB is like the worst when it comes to whoring out their cars in cammo, when EVERYONE knows what the damn car is going to look like.

Looks good, but two things I wish were executed better:

1) the mirrors look clunky, especially when attached to the door; and
2) the chrome strip running across the trunklid goes to the edge....would have been nicer if it tapered off before meeting the edge of the trunk lid.

Wow that's just amazing, inside and out! Fantastic! So elegant, so sporty, so perfect!

However, two things (nothing's really perfect you know...): bit strange at the rear to have that chrome stripe ending nowhere, neither on the rearlights nor on any of the charcter lines. And inside, it's too bad that the wood doesn't connect between the dash and the doors.

So far the numerous side lines don't bother me one bit, it doesn't look clumsy at all, really flows with the design and look just right.

A real masterpiece. Bravo! :usa7uh:

May I add one, the BMWesque hood shutline isn't doing any favors to the design. I wish they could still incorporate the grill into the hood like older Mercs. I also don't understand why they couldn't just use the curvier mirrors of the old CLS those looked great!

I've noticed the rear chrome strip since FEP days and was wondering if it was trickery. My only guess is if you were to consider the bottom piece of chrome from the greenhouse it would continue down the wheel arch and probably meet with the boot strip. Otherwise it's a quirky design element.

All N' all I think the car continues the old cars legacy...best 4-door coupe on the planet!
