CLS [Spyshots] 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS - First Photos without Camouflage

The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023. The original model was a four-door sedan based on the Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. An estate (shooting brake) model was later added to the model range with the second generation CLS.

It's great that MB finally decided to ditch the double fogs...hopefully this will spread to the rest of the lineup.

Don't be so happy, 'cause they may have been ditched in the case of the new CLS, but you'll continue to see them on the next generations of the ML and GL.

Which is, I must say, a pity!:t-banghea

Are you sure about this, or you say it because of the spy pics?.

Wow ... it amazes me how people here are obsessed with double fogs and side-view mirrors.
I really don't care that much about those things and a few other obsessions members lose sleep over.
I guess that's what makes us GCFs? Attention to every minute detail :t-hands:

Once the quirky detail does not significantly affect the overall appearance, I could care less. I'm more concerned with the hoot/bonnet shut-line above the grille than any extra bulb you could come up with.

Such things are make-up! You're absolutely right. Overall the car is just perfect in my opinion (with LED and with a standard fog light) and there are always details I love more or less. Would have loved a more contoured bonnet for example. But right now, I just want to see that goddamn interior, because that's still the most important part of a car. Exterior is great to look at, but it's the interior where I will spend most of the time.

I don't remember seeing them.

I´ve gone back in the spy pics thread and itñs true I donñt see them, I thought I saw them. We´ve also seen the W222 S-Class with double fogs. If the CLS doesn´t have them but the S-Class does it´s just stupid.

we're not sure that's real W222 S-class and not just W221 mule

I have to say that I am extremely impressed with the profile of this car. Even with the tape, the lines are stunning. The accent lines are busy, but it works well on this 4-door coupe thing. Base package and AMG both look great. Can't wait to see in the flesh.

Oh thats alot better..it looks niiice w/o amg package aswell
Love the wide hips

PS
Seems to be on raised suspension..

Just really noticed the "New BMW" style bonnet shutline, which is unfortunate.... Or should I say "EU Regulation" style bonnet shutline.

Just re: Double Fogs.

Looks like M-B took note to the complaints of those hideous things, as apparently, via a new Owner of a 2011 E-Class (U.S Spec), the LED Fogs come Standard on P1 Package now? That's a huge thing, and I'm surprised it hasn't been reported at all. I would be LIVID if I had a 2010 with double fogs now, even though I'm a little P'O'd that I payed extra to get my double fogs, and they won't be as rare a sight anymore.

I just checked MBUSA.com and the 2011 E-Class's LEDs are only available with the P2. However, the configurator previously only showed the E-Class with double fogs, but now it only shows it with LEDs. Maybe this means that the info will soon be changed on MBUSA...

WOW, this is looking more and more stunning with each new spy pic, hate the current version with a passion - especially the front.

This however is something special, once in a while a new car is introduced that makes you want to reach for your check book. I was leaning towards a new 5er but now I may put that purchase on hold.

Yes you should. If you're not set on 5 seats...the CLS is going to be stunning.
