If this is stupid than most cabrios are stupid, unlike all of the other SUV cabrios this actually looks good, I believe it will be very popular, it will be a hit with the ladies, which in turn will lead to BMW, Audi and Mercedes cutting the roofs off there own offerings to compete.

I disagree, it's no more stupid than A3/A5 or 1/4 Series cabrios, cars which I believe potential Evoque cabrio owners will cross shop.
