Sorry if I go off topic, but given the probable postponement of the new class s for 2021 that means to postpone the release of the new class c by 2021 for a year?

After WWII the car manufactures recovered by producing prewar models. The crisis most probably will be so extreme that it would be a matter if they could produce at all. When 15 out of your 1000 supplier are bankrupt no new models could be put in production.

Regarding VAG, it might as well be a big mistake to bet on EV only (VW).

VAG is taking a MAJOR gamble, certainly. Personally, my novice premonition is telling me that this gamble will make VAG the best prepared of all German manufacturers for the future. It's probably become quite obvious to those who are interested enough to read my postings that I'm embracing the BEV concept with increasing enthusiasm. I simply perceive the benefits and advantages as being compelling.

I do believe, right now, that the less a company has invested in future technology, the better for it. This is not a wrong move, it's just a bad luck. Soon technology will cost almost nothing. It's the liquidity that will count.

You very well could be right, Jimmy.
My personal opinion is, that BEV pursue the dead-end street of an ancient, obsolete technology. A transitional technology at most.

Give me...say...5 years time, Mick. I may be basking in a smug sense of self-satisfaction...or...dining on king-sized portions of crow. Beaming or belching, so to speak.

As usual, well put, Jimmy.
If BEV keep there financial, tax induced and many other incentives from governments like the Dutch and German, it could be “basking in a smug sense etc.”. The Dutch government however is already taking back BEV-Aid measurements.
If you’re right in your estimation in 5 years time, I’ll drive up to Hamburg and buy you lunch.

@Jimmy, due to current Corona situation, it might very well be, that all those introductions are postponed or some even cancelled. Trying not to be too pessimistic, but it also might very well be, that some brands are going to be in serious financial trouble and must fight for survival. 1. We had the NOx issue, 2. the EU CO2 limits, 3. the insane amounts of money invested in EV and automotive drive. And now this...

While these car companies aren't going to go away once there's a better handle of the COVID-19 pandemic, they will be in a less financially sound position than they were, say, 6 months ago. Many cannot fund the two disparate tracks of ICE and alternative/electric. They will have to make a choice. Before the transition to electric was going to happen over longer time period, now they may be thrusted into that position because of global events. Much of that decision will be determined by their markets' governments and customers' demands.

Beside the fact that most of the pictures/videos were posted , they also added a picture of the C class interior (w206) , NOT W223....

Stupid video...

Thread is being clogged again with rubbish.

With the pandemic, there should be no news for a while - automotive road testings are on hold industry-wide.

Maybe this thread should be closed until someone presents a legitimate update to a moderator for approval. Otherwise we will continue to waste our time every day opening this thread anticipating updates or releases.

Are you implying that the W223 will be a disappointment?
From an interior point of view, most certainly. Exteriorwise, partly. The overall stance is as always great. Many details aren’t.
But you know, Yaz, it’s all a matter of personal taste. Others might be drooling all over the car for sheer admiration and excitement.

Absolutely, its matter of personal taste as well as how the rivals are in respect to the S class.. in the present scenario 222 is out performing all rivals in almost all grounds, but during its release lot of people had the doubt about 222 which was proven wrong by now.
