The new S class will start in Germany from around 98.500 euro for the 4motion , compared to the 94.289,65 Euro S 350D 4 motion (with less standard options)
Still no info about the S 350D RWD

Good to know the W223 will be built by VW..

This front end view is very imposing. The new S-class looks wider and has possibly a lower bonnet line than the W222.

Would that be a reversal of taller bonnets for better pedestrian protection?

I do not like that shape.

Not crazy about the grille shape myself...feels more like a Cadillac grille than anything. It's mostly the upper corners angled like that annoy me, especially as that gives further creedence of how inboard portion of the headlight housing is going to be angled. Which is a deviation from past S-Class and one of those elements that, while not considered a highlighted trademark, has been part of the S-class and most Mercedes sedans since the W124 and W140.

Looks like those renders are pretty close then...

The grille shape was, but they overplayed the corners a bit (like in the above post). The angled corners don't look so severe (imo) on the new S-class. It'll be a talking point though for sure.

Gorden Wagener has been moving this direction for some time now. Look at the E-class grille corners:

Thanks for the information, do you think the grille look exactly the same on W223

In my opinion, the "new" corners of the grille are more apparent in the W223 than the W213, but it blends nicely with the design. The slim headlights and additional slats within the W223's grille (vs. the W213's 2 slat sport grille) draw more attention to the corners.

I'm describing this rather poorly, I know.
