The Mercedes-AMG GT is a series of 2-door sports cars produced by Mercedes-AMG. While not directly replacing the SLS AMG (competing in a different segment), it is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG.

I have been invited to a preview of the new 8er in Geneva the night before the show opens. Champagne,Caviar and Canapés and all the expected trimmings. And at the IAA back in September they did publicly announce it (production) will be launched in Spring. Plus the added panic of the damaged X7 to be ready for the Bayerische Motoren Werke product push @ Geneva.
Is a good sign it will be launched there. Can't think of a better place to launch than in a luxurious,wealthy and neutral country.
I have also been invited to see the AMG and new A-Klasse in a preview also in Geneva.
Just as I was to the CLS which I did state the front of the car is better in real life than what you see in the photographs.

If you’re in the industry (or a friend of someone in the industry), you get email invites to lots of automotive reveals. From the Hyundai i30 to the S-class, VAG night, etc. It’s all about making an impression and having people attend in strong numbers.
You’ll also be surprised at the camaraderie between the higher ups of various brands, especially after a few glasses of champagne. Then things get relatively candid. Lots of jokes and friendly swipes.
